HBwillie
Ed Herman is tough as nails. Never been stopped from strikes.
HouselessRogue
I missed this UFC because of work... boo... So, did Ed Herman hurt his knee then try to kick and completely blow it out? Am I reading into it correctly?
HBwillie
Yeah, pretty much. He got hurt when he was taken down close to the end of the round. He came out the next round and threw a weak *** kick and he just buckled...props for being tough. No props for being stupid.
The-Nameless
Glad to have found an MMA thread. Im interested to hear predictions regarding the new Ulitmiate fighter season, as well as 103, and Carwin lesnar 106. Personally I am leaning at Franklin of Belfort. Belfort is diving back in. Franklin is on the war path as of now, coming of a win on Wanderlei. Though I definately see belforts Lightning hands playing a good part in the fight, forcing Franklin to move to the ground. Lesnar Carwin? Both of extremely heavy hands, and all around knockout power. Carwin is also 11-0, which is nothing to overlook. Mir rocked lesnar, but lesnar was able to recover and take it to the ground, I believe that if carwin got a harder hit in, which he can EASILY do, it might be what Lesnar needs to be shown. But either way someone is going to have a starry night. This find is ending in stoppage or KO.

Iconz
Damn... i did pretty well in my picks... not really surprised bout the Belfort win... but i was hopin Rich would do more... Anyone watch TUF tonight? SOMEBODY CALL 911 CUZ WES GOT ROOOOOOOOOOOBED. Oh and next week... Kimbo Slice vs Roy "Big Country" Nelson... wooo... i hope my man Kimbo does it.... i can see him losing tho... but i can also see him knockin Roy out. I think Kimbo might have better cardio... and Roy's chin aint that great. Roy is no doubt the better MMA fighter.... but the better overall fighter dont always win. __________________ Iconz Slice - "If I got a target then shoot." HBwillie
Roy Nelson's chin isn't great? Because Andrei Arlovski knocked him out? Come on, Iconz...it's Arlovski. That dude has tremendous handspeed and power, not to mention he's very technical. Arlovski was the ONLY person in Nelson's 18 fight career that DID stop him with strikes. He does, in fact, have a chin. And no, Wes didn't get robbed. He lost that fight for sure. They both looked like dog ****, but Wes did waaaay less. He won half of the first round, and did absolutely nothing in the second. The Brit won fair and square imo.
HouselessRogue
I thought we should have seen a third round. The first round went to Wes. The second to the Brit. Wes sucks though. I will go on record and state that Roy Nelson will win the show.
HBwillie
Eh, whatev. They both suuuuck. Roy is my pick too. Look up Roy Nelson VS Diego Sanchez at Grappler's Lair. He hasn't always been that fat.
The-Nameless
As far as TUF, I think Nelson will at least go far his experience speaks for itself. I COMPLETELY agree that last fight was garbage. No athlete should ever be taking a breather while performing their sport. I also agree on the third round comment. That first round, while wes' was still in his cardio range was nice, he was giving the brit hell, thne he started in on the leg kicks, and wes got scared of coming in. For Kimbo Nelson? I can really see it going either way. If kimbo gets caught, or taken down, it is gonna be bad. But on the same note if kimbo catches nelson its gonna be the exact same thing. Im interested to see if Kimbo has matured as a fighter, or if he still wants to just rush in and trade punches until someone falls.
Iconz
Willie... youre one of the guys whos MMA opinion i really respect here... but i totally disagree man. At the very least... Wes won the first round. He struck him w/ some clean shots... got a takedown... all dude did was land a couple of leg kicks and run away. The 2nd round the leg kicks were devastating... but they weren't that devastating in the first rd. Wes pushed the pace until he got tired. Oh well... ill say this tho... had it gone to the 3rd round... McSweeny still woulda won hahaha. So I guess alls well that ends well. I never said that Nelson didnt have a chin... i said his chin "is not that great". He has a good chin... but its not that great... people who have great chins? Hendo, Minotauro, BJ, etc. Country has a chin... but if he gets cracked... hes gunna crumble. Yeah Kimbo doesnt have Arlovski's technical skills (not a lot of people have that level of technical striking...) but doesnt have spectacular head movement either. Roy is def a favorite to win the show. If you look at a lot of the stuff being said in the media right now w/ the fighters... they make it seem like the fight goes to a Nelson decision or a controversial Kimbo decision.... all im hopin is for a good fight. Im goin on a limb and say Kimbo wins (im probably wrong... but thats mah pick). So yeah... Vitor vs Spider. Man... this could be an epic fight! __________________ Iconz Bohr - "Prediction is very difficult, especially if it's about the future."
