So finally comes the time that Nethanar bites the dust. This has been one of my best and all time favorite character to play and I hope that was reflected through my char to everyone. In seven years of playing, this was my first quest-anything which I actually stuck around long enough to see it through. I had an absolute blast with him! I have a detailed story line to his life, if anyone is interested. It details exactly how throughout his life, the world around him actually changed him and that he never was stuck in one line of RP. I believe that this made him so much more of a 'real person' rather than simply an RP being shoved in everyone's face, which makes this char the most difficult to let go since I put so much of my effort through this one.

This char was pretty much completely a first for me. I attained my first quest char, got my first con-quest, actually did decent in the PK department (I know, I know, certain abilities helped with this a lot, but seriously, which chars skills -don't- help with that. ). I'm also pretty sure that in my last 20 or lives, I had more pk's then with any other char combined. This was very satisfying for me, as a player, who never rolls a power combo just for the PK, and who frankly, even after 7 years of playing here, really could care less for pk records.

The only thing I did not get to be was my first Elder in a cabal which I was

really hoping to get as a player, though the title would have meant nothing to

Nethanar.

One of the first statements I got out of Perniciant: "So you PSI SKILL. Here I

was looking forward to some variety," or at least, it was something to that

affect. The reason I chose the path I did, was never based on what Ara was, because I never had the chance to find out before I reached the rank at which you choose. I chose it because Nexus always has undead chars running through it, and a certain ability of mine would not work against them. I have sense seen that it isn't -that- much of an issue with the other paths, (see Laviek when you drink a brew before facing him.)

As far as certain abilities being complained about, I feel for you. I laughed

hysterically as a player when facing Malagas once and he blatently asked me IG if I thought any of my abilities were too powerful. As a player who played a syndi when Wyslign was running the show, I know how you felt. As the character though, how could I ever have believed that the abilities that were given to me were overpowered? My answer to Malagas? "No." The changes were needed, but the changes that were done to the class would have required me to rework my strategy, which I did not believe was something I could fully complete in 3 lives. As it was, I spent my first 60 finally learning exactly how to play the class as it was meant to be played at that time. Nethanar took a lot of things -very- personally. He felt like he carried Aabahran upon his shoulders and that it was up to him to see to changing it. There is one note after Jacobis was freed that will show exactly how much he believed it was up to him to see to it.

So anyways, score sheet and props are below. I look forward to my next char and hope that whether you were a friend, a foe, or just an onlooker, that you had as much fun as I did with this char, even when I was winning or you were.

My hours listed are askew from what they really were with this char. I'm pretty sure I had upwards of approximately 600 hours. When I got my con-quest, my hours were messed up. By far, the longest I have EVER played a single char in my 7 years of playing here.

Jacobis: Man, I didn't see much of you after I got my con-quest which I was kinda disappointed about. I still laugh when I think about my con-quest and I prayed, "So, is there a time line on when I have to complete this?" You responded, "Before you die." Classic!

Zhokril: I love that you take the time to throw some RP around for me.

Daviaus/Solec: You guys rock. You two have done a lot with Knight when so many others were just rolling over and saying forget it. Solec, you'll find that you had quite a lot to do

with Nethanar's choice to go Praetorian, and Daviaus, your RP is one of a true Sigil.

Patreus, Elshan, Luzizac, Masyrui, Typhoeus, Erothir, Reazal, and any of the other Knights

I'm forgetting at the moment: You guys were always a blast to banter back and forth with

as well as fight, and usually die, besides. I believe that we made a HUGE step forward with

Knight and I was glad only to be a part of it.

All my other buddies throughout my life: I'd like to thank you all for seeing to re-equipping me

so, so, so much. I couldn't have done it without all of you.

Enemies:

Valadar: Nethanar despised you. He could never find a tactic to successfully negate certain vamp skills

which completely nullified his abilities. Like I've said before, you took probably 20-30 of Nethanar's lives.

As a player however, you had my total and undeniable respect. Even though you steam rolled me so many

times, I don't believe I -ever- got back to a corpse to find any more than a few items gone. Kinda made

me mad sometimes because I would get a pair of boots which took me like a half hour to get, only to have

you log on 5mins later and you loot them!

Perniciant: We got some battles in, both pre-Psi and post-Psi, and I loved every one of them. I wish you

would have still been around for when I finally hit my prime because I think our battles would have been

EPIC.

All the other Nexians: You guys are ruthless. Whether it was Skia assassinating me, Hainasf beating the

crap out of me, or Triathix literally like 3 rounding me, you guys always kept it interesting.

Syndi's: All you had to do was break ties with Nexus!!!! Lol...

Scorvale! Sorry we never actually got to finish a fight! Your little thingy took my damage from CAPS down

to itty bitty damage and I was not pleased. Was always interesting to fight you.

Other enemies that came and went: I hope I gave you a run for your money. At the end I could only feel

like there were chars made solely to see to my destruction, and believe me, that was awesome. Ogre whip

Warrior dual wielding whips and basically using my ability against me was really fun and interesting. Others

would include Kurvikhel whom, after gaining the 3 most super-powered Zombies known to Aabahran, walked

through me like he was a knife through warm butter.

Anyone else I'm forgetting: I'm sorry, but after 600+ hours, I can't remember everyone I interacted with!

I just know that there's a reason I play this game, and whether you were pounding me in to the dirt or I

was you, know that you made this char the best I've ever played. THANKS!

Heh, I got in there twice. I'm honored. If you took what Perniciant said personally, then he succeeded. He condescended everyone, and I would have like to battle you again also, it was always fun for me. Well done, and I dub this character a thousand times improved from beginning to end. New age Nethanar was ALOT scarier than baby Nethanar.

Sorry, I'm just going to through this out there... The whole yep yep, killed me a little inside each time you said it, There I said it.

Other than that, great char, always good to see a player get back up on his feet after taking soo many deaths and fighting again. I've just rerolled my new character and have been working on him, are you working on something new or you going to give it a rest?

I forgot to explain that actually... At first it was meant just as a sort of hook to get people to pay attention to me. I used it kinda like he was always bobbing to and fro, never really outwardly depressed, always happy go lucky whenever you spoke with him. In the end, it ended up being a habit to where I seriously had to delete it from aim a few times before I sent a message. I did that once to my fiance and she was like wtf? Lol

There were only a few times when you could tell that he was disgruntled by some things, but for the most part, if you said hello, he responded with,

"Hiya, yep yep!" (Even if you were a Drow, so long as he hadn't met you yet.)

I feel like a mourner at a funeral right now. Nethanar was the absolute man. In all seriousness, I had an RP concept I was gonna try to rope you into...but my playtime deteriorated and I really feel like I missed out on a great show. Nothing but the utmost respect and props for a great character.

Just wonderful. He was such a great character, and you kept on trucking when there were tons of evils around while the rest of the Knights "got bored". Someone to look up to, I need to step up my game to honor your character. I've been slacking off too long

But to be serious, when I first started the char, I was decked in my Voker gear that I had worn before being Psi'd, (I regained most of it eventually). I had like -450 ac across the board, -45 saves to all (not including general spell), and had 1100+hp 1500+mana. However, I had like 8/8 hit/dam if I was lucky, 10/10. Ooops.

So I'm chatting with Ara up in Olympus, decked to the nines, and she basically tells me, "Your **** stinks."

And I was all like, "Really!? You want to throw down here, because I've got insane protections from attacks and spells, so ha!"

Ara gets all boosted up from roid rage and bashes me with her staff like a Zerk hopped up on the local opium from Miruvhor and I'm swinging like a mofo and the only thing I hit was myself.

... or what actually happened was Monty was pretty much like, "Just sac it all and we'll start fresh."
