songofsixpence
At school I'm on an IPv6 system, and they appear to have certain IPv4 ports blocked (namely 23-Telnet, and 1848-we all know this one). What I'm curious about, is does anybody know how to circumvent port blocking in IPv6? I'm reading up on how the system is labeled and designed, but I haven't found anything about handling blocked IPv4 ports. Help?
Nightmare_from_hell
I'm pretty sure that what you are doing will not be taken lightly by any school official should they find what you have done. I doubt any here will openly tell you how to "hack" your way around a school's filtering software and/or hardware settings. When I was in school, I had done this and it resulted in a week's worth of out of school suspension. I would have rather had it in school cuz my dad was extremely pissed. Lol... I would suggest getting your fix of FL outside of the school's network because it really will be more trouble than it's worth.
Tom
It wouldn't be hacking to SSH around it. If SSH is allowed, you can get to an outside server and telnet from there.

My friends and I got around these kinds of problems by telling the network admin about most of the security holes we found, so he didn't mind us fiddling with things because we'd tell him how to fix them. Except of course for the couple of options we'd leave open for us to use.
songofsixpence
Thank you Tom and inscribed. Looks like tunneling works. So now I'm possibly back, the lag seems horrendous, but I'm gonna play around with the settings and see if I can fix that.
Tom
Using telnet directly from the terminal is quickest in my experience.
