So he probably also tinkered the old value. "Ray of Truth" is an amazing weapon for new players. Since it is based on their opponents PK record, it will hit harder those of greater PK skill, thus giving newbie an extra aid. "Ray of Truth" can Blind,Silence or Shrink your opponent. Giving great aid to fight evil Dark Knights and Mages. The blindness can be negligible against a human player as they can quaff a Gyvel potion and cure it. But is priceless against mobs (creatures) as they stay blind for several hours. This makes Good Clerics better vs creatures than their Evil counterpart. Evil clerics are also a good class for Newbies. But in this case i recommend them to chose the Religion Chance Discord. Being a Duergar is also a good option as they have more Health points, allowing to cover a lot of mistakes that could lead others to death. Not sure where you heard this, but it isn't correct. To answer the original question, the cap is low enough that there is not much point in someone killing just for the sake of their path damage.
