Guest emp_newb
Now you just need those friends On a side note I believe you contacted me on AIM Sandbox, and I set a variation of what you said. The tactics you develop in the middle ranks rarely work at pinn, except for things like Necro who uses the same tactics the vast majority of the time. Your best bet honestly, is to suit up, forget rares until you are at least able to survive, killing comes later I promise, learning to survive in crap is a HUGE step towards pking effectively. Ninjas are also a special case, since they will pk like no other class. I recomend starting as Deykari says, or with a pure melee char. Pure melee is how I started, and I learned slow, but steady. I learned how to reequip effectively, how to avoid deaths, what items i needed to prepare with, and what I needed to do to secure kills. Your first step though, as has been said, is learning to survive. Learning to kill comes after staying alive hehe. If you have any questions, or ponderings check the essay section of the forum, it has some very helpful hints. The Pk log section is also very informative, and entertaining. Djriacen
Healers wouldn't be a good first character because one begins to rely on gate too much.
Guest emp_newb
well I say doing casters at all is learning the wrong way. Most people who start on casters, stay as casters. I found that me picking a fire giant warrior as my first pinn that went cabal was a FANTASTIC learning experiece. Sure I got utterly DESTROYED often, but I also learned how important things like sanc, armor, shield, stone skin, curative items and enlarge really are. You play a caster, those things are almost always available at the snap of your fingers. YOu never learn the importance of battle prep as a cleric, you can ALWAYS be prepped. So I say hybrids and pure melee are the best way to learn how to bang with the pinns.
Jaharim
well I say doing casters at all is learning the wrong way. I would have to agree... Jaharim was my first pinn character caballed ever. And the learning curve from switching from all Caster to All melee is... S H A R P! I'm getting my tushie stomped up and down. But... I also can't think of a better way to learn. FL is survive or die after all.
