I usually try to keep my rp at least at par, if not a bit above. This is targeted towards newer players, as alot of their posts are in regards to pking. This is an immersive world, that revolves around unique players, unique characters, and unique perspectives. Randomly killing someone with little to no rp only perpetuates the same treatment some of you have gotten. I know alot of you are coming to grips with pking at level 50, and that is COMPLETELY acceptable and agreeable. Rp is also a major factor in the lands we call home. Rp can be simple, it can be intense and out there. You can do WHATEVER you want via rp, just be aware that the 'silent killer' rp is basically frowned upon, and recieves alot of dislike from the majority of the pbase. If your an invoker who wants to randomly pk, thats fine, you can rp something about the wild energies you control would immolate you if you did not let them out on other living beings. Or if you are a necro, you need souls to fuel your expirements/abilities. If your a zerk, well, your angry and don't care. Dks invoke suffering and pain, ninjas strike with little to no warning, thieves steal, warriors like to test their abilities, clerics preach of their god assaulting any who would speak against their patron deity. I put alot into FL, so do alot of other players, to have alot of our work rewarded with a shut up, or an ignore, or a no rp full loot random pk is downright frustating. This is was not brought on by a full loot, or random pk. I just notice alot of the newer players are posting about pk, and tactics, and trouble they are having regarding pk. Just remember that this is an RP/PK mud. Your character should feel like a living (or not) breathing (or not) person. Not just an extension of your keyboard that you use to type people to death. They can think better than that. I am yet to see someone scream "Prepare to be sacrificed to the Cycle." Or "Die you Treehugging elf." "Return to your stinking pit, Squid!!!" "Prepare to surrender your useless soul, sword monkey." "Your vile corruption ends here, Tainted Knight." "Prepare to be Purified by the clensing light of Lord Irumeru!!!" "Collecting Alms to the poor, and by this i mean your soul and my sack." "Surrender your head or prepare to be slain." "By the One, impaled you will be. Glory to the One." There are so many character one linners you can yell during combat, that will aid the general atmosphere. This also goes to us older players. You create a trend and they will follow. If people are interested in this, play "Typing of the Dead", the game is actually fun.. until your half-way through the game and you have to wear bandaids because your bleeding all over your keyboard from pounding on it so much, then your roommate asks why you are "beating it for so long, just blow it or give up"... yeah there was much confusion that day.
