Tom
The reason this is so hard to prove through testing? HP gain per level is at least partially random. In a system with such a large element of the outcome dependent on chance, it takes a LOT of testing before you can overcome the potential bias that can enter by accident. Since it takes so long to reach 50, this is a situation where code has to trump experience, even if you've tested this many times.
Guest emp_newb
Well, I will listen to Zhokril, since he is always scouring through the code anyway. I am gonna roll 3 human adventurers. The first Im gonna get to 5 without training hp, and average out the gains. The second im gonna get to five with using those extra trains at creation for 30 hp. If your theory is right, the averages should be different. Then that should end this argument.
Tom
It'll never survive the peer review process; try it with at least 50.
Celerity
I'm going to have to switch my stance. There is no adjusting scale for HP as far as I can see. That means it shouldn't matter when you use your trains.
Raargant
Liars, liars, liars! I don't care what the code says. I reject your reality and replace it with my own!
Mudder
By the way. I did all of my testing on halloween madness. It was pretty easy and clear that training hp had 0 affect on hp gain.

Cephirus
Having rolled multiple fire giant warriors over the course of mud, at least two in each age, I have never noticed a significance in hp/mana/move gain. Any difference has always been very well within a set range, dependant on the individual gains that are class/race specific. I have noticed that of the classes, zerkers gain the average most. Followed by Warriors, rangers and so on. Mage classes I would assume gain the least highest average.
