Couple things that bother me

This thread is not a finger at anyone, a burn attempt, or flame invite. Just things I have noticed that slightly annoy me.

People who die to you, take a partial loot, then swear up, and down how they are gonna destroy you til you take your own life. You just died to me, come the hell on man.

People who sit in mid ranks with uber gear thinking they are the hardest thing since they invented trig. Pking at rank 20-35 in crap pinns need groups to get is pure advantage, and you got HELLA lucky getting that gear. To brag about it is just bleh.

People who think gear makes a character. Jesus christ this one annoys me ALOT. You get shiny gear by being strong, you keep shiny gear by being strong. So why the hell would you be strong BECAUSE of shiny gear? I have killed utterly decked people right after being captured as an outlaw. Why? Cause uber gear is not the key, tactics are the key.

People who think skills are bugged/broken when they are not, they just do not work how you want them to.

I am bugged when people utterly defend things that are broken or overpowered. Whatever their reasons.

I am annoyed by people who full loot for the sake of full looting.

When pinns kill newbies when they have other enemy pinns they should be focusing on.

People that multi-kill their naked enemies.

When lowbies talk TONS of trash to lvl 50s.

People that group up to kill 1 person. Especially when the two grouping are by no means weak or new.

People that kill obvious newbies piss me off a lot.

When people act as if they know everything.(This doesn't bother me IG)

When you kill someone in a totally legit PK, don't take anything but gold, and they yell at you OOCly calling you trash. What is the point of that? I'll show you trash...

Last but not least, when experienced players roll up combos that are considered overpowered by the players just for the sake of abusing while at the same time being incredibly trashy. (Full loots, attacking people who are already fighting, Etc.)

I can forgive a trashy newbie, they don't know any better yet. But an experienced trashy player? That's disgusting.

This is abuse of the ignore command. If they insult you and then ignore you, no matter if they are in pk range or not, inform the Immortals.

When humans speak like dwarves.

When it isn't part of their role, and they just speak like a drunken dwark. The way they form their sentences and pronounce their words.

I've been here 8 years, I've had chars with triple digit kill scores, I've had an undefeated paladin, three cabal elders...

My hands still will shake occasionally while PKing. Once the adrenaline kicks in, there isn't much you can do about it except try to stay calm (hard to do when you're being bashlocked ).

i do fine, when im the one attacking, but when they get that surprise jump on you... its like someone injected crack in my hands lol.

I hate bad RP. If there isn't a reason, why do it?

I would understand it if they supplied a reason. Other than that... no.. I'm sorry. I have reasons for the way Liandra acts. If you RP enough with her.. you will find out.

But when I openly TRY to RP with these guys, and they offer no depth or reasoning? I've literally come across 4 or 5 humans that speak like dwarves with no story. These are characters, people. Their lives don't start the second you create them. They have pasts. They have plans. They have stories. Raised by dwarves? Say so. It would come up in a conversation out of either pride that they accepted you as one of them, or anger that they shunned you. Not that hard. The excuse "I wasn't properly educated." doesn't work. Education does not determine accent. You wouldn't know a lot of the words you use. It's poor RP the way I see it.

So I guess what it comes down to, is that I hate paperthin RP.

Even my emotaur has more of a story than that..

I think he means his hands spontaneously evolved to have nostrils while there was conveniently a bunch of powdered crack all up in his keyboard, so when he gets excited, his new strange hand nostrils breathe in deeply, thus succumbing to the crackshaking.

Hm, what you need to understand is that, as Malch once said, different people play this mud for different reasons. You can't exect someone to throw his life story at every character who asks him "What are your goals?" We don't do this IRL then I see no reason to do it in this game. If a character asks me this ingame (without my character "knowing" him for some time), the only thing he will get is a beating from me.

I hate people who keep digging for "reasons" when someone attacks them. If someone is attacking you, then he has a reason. You must fight/run with such an attitude. Not with a "this guys is a trash player, he has no reason to attack me" attitude. If and when I sense the second type of attitude, then I really become one.

I am not a great RPer, but I try. My characters' RP is not as "deep" as I want it to be, but it is good enough usually. I personally treat others the way I want to be treated. If someone has been trashy to me, then I will be twice more trashy to him. If someone has showed class, then I shall show the same and tell every other person in game of this character's class. If I've heard from others in game "bad" things about your character, and especially if those others are close to my character, then I shall be VERY agressive to you even if we have neve met before. To you this might seem like me having no reason for agressiveness, but for me it is good enough reason. And if my character has already made his mind for you as a "bad" person, do not expect him to want to talk much to you. Especially about his goals in life. After all, do we talk to people we don't like IRL if we have a chance to choose?

lol, a few things have been made clear to me, FL is not RL and FL is not D&D. Different things are expected, i agree with both of you to an extent, just nice to see characters with more though into them than what race/class/cabal choice will i roll today!

edit: i've also noticed certain people retain the same RP across multiple characters, your character is not an extension of yourself. If you are RP'ing yourself and going around killing things then you might wanna see a doctor.

This is what I love about FL. I have characters with vastly different rps, including outlooks on life, perceptions of others, etc. Right now, I believe I know a character that literally hates the piss out of one of my characters, but is a good friend to another of mine. I keep ooc feelings out of it, and it's really fun. It's like a different game depending on who I log in as.

I just get character inspiration, ponder on it for awhile if I get motivated enough I'll roll and run with it. My RP only comes out when it is performed around me, solo RP done by me is very rare unless the character I'm playing has been around for awhile and has some history behind him/her/it, or is a qrace or qclass.

You're right. Culture/economic class determines accent. However, culture/economic class largely determine whether a person will be educated or not. So there IS a rather large correlation between education and accent.
