I actually really think they need a bit more definition right now. Back in 1.0, their purpose was defending magic against the Warmasters who wanted to destroy it. Wasn't really a deep purpose, but it was a serious purpose. Savants right now don't really have a purpose beyond gathering knowledge.

well considering what 1.0 warmaster/savant was, most definately you can. it was in-game and it was on the forum of the time, and it was exciting just to read the exploits. and seeing big names on both sides at the same time. yeah, the whole 9.
Yes, 1.0 Savants were entirely defined by defending the Vortex of Magic against the Warmasters. I was an elder for months, trust me, I know. Should they be now? Not really, because Warmasters now are entirely about the perfection of combat, not the destruction of magic. That's why I think they need some purpose.

make it some sort of "5 years of warrior reign" ? idk, a plot well telegraphed to everyone that it's coming. some players i know for sure would have a blast before they go back to the normal.

And everyone who isn't in Warmaster will bitch on the forums about how they're getting pounded by incredibly overpowered abilities, with the difference between that and the norm being that in this case they'd be right.
okay BUT they are mages. what say you to that. they got time and money to overcome some BS deaths, esp savant which havent had to do much anyway. it could be a retro blast? i guess not.
I say that mages have a tough time re-equipping on their own, and this would make every single Savant who logged on while a Warmaster with mithril was on die and need such re-equipping.

on offense dude, but a summoning mage will summon managain items, hitgain items, save items, and baseline armor items from one room. i dont know how much you need, but your average nemesis is going to need QUITE A BIT MORE WITH YOU HAVING PROT SHIELD ALONE, for you to just pop in and probe your target to test him out and see and if he's been naked for a spell or not and EASILY GO AWAY.

I do not know what to make of this, Sounds to me like ya'll want to bring back the bash brothers from 1.0... Smash, Ryspantherin, and Ulraunt!
