HouselessRogue
I am wondering what all this pertains too. Charm as in a few q-class skills or does it have bearing on things like sleep as well? Does it effect most mental saves? Not sure exactly how this works. HouselessRogue
Well that is an interesting point of view. Hmm.. you don't say. You really think that? Yeah, that clears a few things up. Thanks!!

Guest emp_newb
Elf charm resist I believe is keyed towards sleep, and certain qrace spells.

Ex-D&Der
It's funny for some reason I was wondering about this myself right around the time you posted it. If it's true, it is an argument for elven rangers with certain role-played enemies. I will say that when I played an elf, I never got successfully slept or you know whatted by a you know what, although I did get charmed by a psi once, although I think I was naked IIRC. WarriorCleric
I am still waiting on WC to answer this one. Okay... I don't really know much on the topic myself, and the forum posts on it don't share any reliable information. Similar Discussions: http://forum.theforsakenlands.org/showthread.php?p=101644 http://forum.theforsakenlands.org/showthread.php?t=11419 Outside that, my memory is that Elves had charm resist since way back towards the AR days, back when dks could charm players. Charm resist was worth a bit more when any Tom, Dick and Harry with charm person could order all rem all;order all attack healer. The perk certainly depreciated when that spell was changed to mob only, but I doubt it's useless. Does that work for you? Or were you looking for something else? Mudder
I think it mostly pertains to a certain qspell and possibly sleep. Like has already been said. I'll just reinforce it.
mya
Great aid WC. Just a little friendly ribbing, Ex. And as you said, it really depends on the type of spell in question. Aff resistance, either in pure form or as 'magic resistance', means less damage taken as well as higher chance to save; for certain maledictive spells, it means less damage taken (if the spell lands) and a lower chance to land; and for mental, it just means lower chance to land. Resistance =! Saves Resistance includes, in practical effect, a bonus to saves, but is not the only effect. Only thing left unsaid is "Silence". A spell that was, and possibly still is Charm. I suspect that Saves gotten some changes in the last years. I have personally seen spells "miss" to hit target, as weapons do when hitroll is low.
