Jedi_Donkey
So why is it that goods RP, neutrals RP, but Evils just run around killing things? I try to RP with an evil and I get told "don't talk to me child". Come on evils, I know killing everything around you is what you "think" is RP but how about a couple words, a nasty exchange? Hit on my purdy little faerie, come on do something evils! GAW!
Ghrundor
Agreed. Majority of the evils that play do not roleplay at all. You evils just run around like you have rabies and need to attack everyone in your PK without any reason other than just being evil. That is not RP at all. Guest emp_newb
Perhaps you are not interacting with the right evils. Some of the scariest pinns around right now have rped rather heavily with my current char. Zaulael, Wuzor, Zalozen, Kurvikhel, Scorvale. And countless other lowbies have incited random tidbits of RP. Try throwing RP down their throat, see where that gets you. I know with my current char I like to choke imms to death with silly one liners. You tell Zhokril "Or at least a good cream for all these burns."
megayeah
Well at least now we know who plays only goodies. I always try to RP, no matter what I play. It is hard though when you are a lets say...dark knight, you tell someone prepare, I am coming to feed my weapon on your soul and he sais, "right. like I'll wait for you to find me" and leaves. It is harder to RP with evils, because you need the element of surprise. That is before battle though. Anyone should RP after the victor has been shown. Guest emp_newb
Phaige, my undead blm, had a stupid amount of RP . I used to mercy people, then suck out their last living breath as I killed them. Last breath of the dying.
Jedi_Donkey
Oh, I always RP with anyone, even the people I'm hunting at that time. It's fun to RP, else I'd be playing something like WoW. Where RP is absent and useless. But yeah, Sometimes I rp with some of those people. But many of them don't want to RP with a lowbie. Or I get some general "Grow in ranks" crap of a message. I love all the inferences about what/who I play. Who knows, I might be playing an evil and trying to rp with other evils? Or maybe I farted and it stinks, no maybe on that one, It definitely stinks!
English lad
There are a lot of evils who RP. There are also a lot of people who don't want to RP, and are only here for the PK - those people can normally be spotted as being those who only play evils. Why? It is considered acceptable RP for an evil just to want to kill things. Raargant's thread 'That's why I kill things' or whatever it was summed it up pretty well. f0xx
If I was RPing with every lowbie who says "Ello", I would have no time for PK. The way I see it, an evil talks to (RPs) someone only if he can gain something from it. I will rarely RP with lowbies especially if there is an enemy in the lands. Hell I am an evil, I have a big sword and a ton of spells to "persuade" you. Now, if there is someone from whos manipulation I can gain from, I will RP. If you are a promising lowbie, then you will get your share. If you're the village idiot though, you will be treated like one.
Iusedtobesomebody
Lowbies talking crap just to talk usually get ignored by me. Lowbies who sincerely initiate RP will find it reciprocated.

mya
It's harder to RP when everyone is out to get you, or is a potential enemies. Powerfull PK characters have the bonus of having more space to RP as they are skill full and instill fear. Like Valadar. Clerics/Communors also have it easier as they can be always prepared during rp.
Guest emp_newb
If I was RPing with every lowbie who says "Ello"' date=' I would have no time for PK. See that is where we differ, I look at it the other way around. I love rping with all kinds of crazy people. Some of the best RPing I had was with Loquaciant pre-demon while I was Maerothir. You miss out on alot if you focus solely on one aspect of the game. I like to try to include lowbies in RP. I remember how great it was to be in some rp as a low level char. My favorite RP ever was with our resident zombie Chayesh at level 8. 8. How many of you would have said wow, level 8 char, no desc done. **** him. Giving people in game RP chances, and even potential to expand with your RP is amazing. My current char is involved in 3 seperate characters RP directly. Why? Because I presented a uniquely played character in an attempt to wrench RP from the masses. It worked.

Because I presented a uniquely played character in an attempt to wrench RP from the masses. It worked. Exactly. I rip rp out of people, heh. If they simply refuse, I end up killing them, then using that to rp... I'll use their eq to get them to rp. ALOT of people... though, do rp and I don't have much trouble finding it when I look. Alot of it is about initiating. I've noticed almost anyone who is not still in the "can't figure anything out, I'm learning the game so my rp is gonna be pretty low quality for a bit" category, will rp what they can. I find people enjoy it, it works... shoutouts. It's easy, and people work off of others to flesh themselves out.
Pali
My Purity paladin has had little trouble RPing with evils. Oh... you meant TALKING to them.
Twinblades713
Oh... you meant TALKING to them. Not always. But the point is, when you buy an apple from Elizabeth, you're roleplaying. There's good roleplay and ****ty roleplay. I usually refer to the former, when I say "rp".

Zaulael' date=' Wuzor, Zalozen, Kurvikhel...[/quote'] Lawl...I got pwned by Kurvikhel and: Kurvikhel tells you, "I just wanted your soul." Or maybe that was one of the other 50390834398234 squid Necros out there... But honestly, what other RP should occur between an Evil and a Good? Goodie: "Convert ye to the pathways of Light or be smitten foul beast!" *Goodie get's curb stomped* Baddie: "You suck, Darkness will prevail!" Goodie's muffled voice due to a huge foot in his mouth: "Hahaha! Is that the best you can do?" I do think there's an over all lack in RP while ranking. Even goodies just get in the habit of: 'fol , You join group, /afk, return, eat, drink, You say, "My mind wanders", /afk.' ect. It's hard because there's no short-term reward system for strong RP for those who are unmotivated to develop hawt RP sauce. I don't really see a viable solution. Maybe that's just me seeing as how I'm still kinda new. Oh and by the way: or is a potential enemies Mya, I don't mean this at all as an insult, but I've been following your posts for a long time and you seem to have at least 18-19 int; so what's the story? We're just people doing what we do together because it works better that way. We'll exchange small talk here and there, maybe a few jokes, but until we've worked together a while we're not going to be sharing much in the way of personal history or motivations or goals. That's how I see my groupmates. I'm not going to meet someone and start telling them my life story until we've known each other for a while.
