Malicious
So casters can't summon mobs into an enclosed room? that go for PCs as well? And I've noticed that dispel magic fails alot in PvP, even after mastered. Anyway to increase level of success with gear?

There is gear that raises your spell lvl, however the ability to land it also plays off of the other players saves. You can summon a player or creature into a room with a door, if it is open, you can then close it if you so choose.
a-guitarist
There are some items that can increase your casting level, allthough I have no experience with them myself. As for summoning, you can not summon PCs to enclosed rooms, there has to be an exit. but, if you catch a sleeping guy with a summon, the only hint they've moved is the, "You can't see anything." they'll get. Maybe then you'll have enough time to close the door and start a whooping. A good tactic I've used is to summon people to non-enclosed rooms with 4 or more exits, then they start spamming directions (if you can catch a nervous guy or someone whos already in transit) before your or they kno wit, they've got a bunch of direction commands stacked and not the right room for them; they're lost and easier pickings. a-g
Twinblades713
Nah, I prefer summon someone into a room with one exit and a door. If a place is mostly enclosed but has one exit at least, they can be summoned in.
MadCowDisease
what about rooms with "secret" exits?
f0xx
The room needs to have an exit which is open if you want to summon something in it.
MadCowDisease
ok. so hypothetically you can summon somebody into the room near, say, drykblahblahblah wood, that is a "secret" room. then close it as soon as you do, and it would have roughly the same effect as summoning into a room with no doors (that is, until they spam the proper open). hmm.. i think i should make a macro for that just in case. Yes, but you have 1 round lag after summon and 2 rounds lag after close/open. For that time I can either simply walk out of the room or just press my key which gets a cloudy potion from my backpack and quafs it and walk out again. Now there is a trick here, which is especially useful when you are a necro, not just because you can first sleep your opponent and then summon him, but also because you don't have lag from the order command (unless you are ordering a rescue, which in this case you aren't). Zhokril
Lag for open/close is less than a round.
Ali_gmud
A shaman summoned me into a room, and I walked out of the room and closed the door on him and walked off, that's how much lag summon gives. Summoning into a room -I've found- only works well against a character either unaware, or a victim of the spell sleep, or insomnia... or even a very lucky DK.. I say no more. oldskooler
As for the dispelling that you asked about, a mace of disruption adds +5 to your dispelling of magic I believe. So it would be 105%
