Ok here's the deal.

My laptop had some of the partition files become corrupt and basically screw the whole hard drive. It had to be reformated which it now has and xp home addition is now back installed.

However I now have a ocuple of problems,

1. I couldnt find the driver for my wireless, anyone here who can give me a hand with that?

2. my internet is now completely 100% slow. I have no idea why. Im plugged into the broadband but still downloading at like 6kbs...

Anyone know why this is? It was working fine before this, but now its fooked.

On a side question, I think the MUD is burning itself into my monitor. I'm totally serious about this.

I can see some white outlines of my button/output screen setup for zMUD constantly.

What is causing these 'burns' and is there any way to fix them? They seem to be growing recently.

Honestly first step I would try re installing the driver for your video controller/graphics card, if that does not fix the problem try a new cable, if it still persists I would say it is a moniter failure of some sort. Thankfully moniters are now at throw away prices hehe.

Yea, being a newer model I would doubt it is something wrong with the moniter. Try reinstalling the drivers for your computers graphics card/controller.

Sounds like you could be looking at getting a new machine all in all, talk to me about it next time I see you, and we can look at options to see what you could do.

That is just a driver problem, it is not a reason to invest in a new pc. Jeeze. You a tech for geek squad or something :). It is just the base controllers are not set to run optimal for alot of things. Wireless, ethernet, video, sound, and network adapters are ones that spring to mind. You just need to install the drivers via the device manager. If you need help, I use Logmein software to do remote pc repair.
