Guest emp_newb
Yea, I fought Thorghull, I figured I could deal with 3 rounds of lag from bodyslam. Then I hit big and nasty and you ate a venom sack. I never even tried to flee, I just watched in horror. I got lagged so hard I was lagged at my pit
Insepiddeception
I fought Thorghull with Goreddz my Tribunal ranger....painful.
Guest emp_newb
Wait, thats not possible Insepid. You do in fact have half a brain, and since zerks suck, you would have easily beaten him.
Mindflayer
A berserker in Nexus, if they are smart with their build, destroys a ranger.

Sure, it will make them stronger, but that's what cabal powers always do. You might be able to get rid of their pets, but pets don't do much against melees anyways. Guest emp_newb
o all rescue throw shield Those two lines are more than enough.
Calron
o all rescue throw shield Those two lines are more than enough. Pets won't last more than a round or two against a decked melee, and shield throw is not a consistent lagging mechanism. You would end up effectively lagging yourself. Shield throw is much more similar to grapple than it is to bash or bodyslam.
H&R
Not to mention your pets can't lag him while you are lagged from the rescue. So he can just flee before you start throwing
Insepiddeception
There are so many 'Zerks are underpowered' and so on threads. I for one love the class, Thorghull and many others have been powerful over the years that I have played. I played quite a few of them and fought many of them and loved every minute of it. Theyre not to be played as warriors and I think thats alot of the fallbacks to peoples experiences with them. You are always going to have uphill battles with a zerk but at the same time you will completely steamroll many as well, especially depending on the build you take. Yeah Thorgy steamrolled me with my ranger and bloodguard, he played it exactly how they were supposed to be played, hit and move with high damage and get out when the damage came back to him. Malicious
hit and move with high damage and get out when the damage came back to him. Can you be more specific? I for one love the Idea of zerks (played a Mino zerk briefly). But other than mino charge, I'm kinda unknowledgeable of Tactics. By the way I grew up in Morehead City, NC Insep, you ever been there? Insepiddeception
We're about 2 hours away from each other, I am close to fayetteville and wilmington. By high damage I just mean get in as much as you can and flee away use regeneration to your advantage. Theres so much more to add there but I don't want to cause a massive derailment of an already derailed thread.
tassinvegeta
Hi guys. I saw Sciscuri's deletion thread and thought this would be the best place to talk about zerks.
Mudder
Yeah, f-it. I am done with the zerk conversation. I don't even know why I bothered arguing it with such a newb in the first place.

Guest emp_newb
Look, unless someone can show me a log of them playing a zerk like they should be played, and losing with no chance of victory, I will still stand by the fact zerks do not need crap. There where several times Lmathr just outright beat asses down. I was fighting a challenge, and Orodreth (festys pally) came in and hit me for an obliterate with a charge RIGHT after a fight was over. I ran off, healed for two tics, prepped, and laglocked him
Mudder
Mudder, you used that in bad taste because he is actually new to the game. Apologize. Lol! ...Oddly enough, the newb part was referring to his forum name. And Newb: After all this, your now saying that laglocking is the proper way for them to be played? Didn't you say they were NOT to be played like warriors?
Guest emp_newb
correct. If your warriors use only laglocks, well, you need to branch out. BUT if your playing something that you can laglock, you definately should. Pallies, dks, rogues, smaller melee, unprepped blms should all be targets for laglocks. As a matter of fact I believe Ilendriel is the only paladin I never got a successful laglock on.

tassinvegeta
That's right all. Your warriors or zerks can't be considered successful unless you get a laglock on one of Dey's chars. Even if he has prot shield it shouldn't be too hard
Guest emp_newb
Define 'successful'. You didn't get one on Pamiyn either. DeyI honestly did not think I fought you as Lmathr, I could be mistaken though. I apologize for smearing your heavily tarnished record Again, if you did beat me, not real hard since I played balls out and mostly naked most of the time, sorry. Not trying to cockwave, just using it as an example.
Deykari
You didn't fight Pamiyn. Hence my meaning... Nah, just kidding. You fought me as Lmathr, laglocked me all the way until I had about 6hp (which took a whiiilleee) and then I managed to flee. It was like 23402340234 of laglock and it failed right when you needed it most. I never beat you (didn't want to sound like cockwaving) just wanted to poke fun at how annoying it must have been for you to lock me and tear me down for that long for me to get away. Though you don't remember. Dey
Guest emp_newb
I poke WAY to much smot to have a memory outside of important, and crucial things. EDIT: Also, getting away at 6 hp is a COMPLETELY lucky fluke.
