And yes' date=' Valek, if you have tons of muscle it can be a problem(we're talking steroids huge) but otherwise it will actually strengthen your heart and you will be in much better overall health. Muscle = Good weight, fat = bad weight. There actually is quite a difference. :)[/quote']

Mass = Mass. Fat floats in water. Muscle does not. I'm too lazy to go find the displacement formulas relative to volume, mass, and....I can't remember the third variable, but somewhere in the back of my sub-conscious something is stirring....I'm just too lazy to exercise that muscle. Strength and muscle are not relative to a good cardiovascular work-out, but a tearing of the muscle tissue through a strenuous exercise and regrowing of the new cells/tissue over the old.

Point is, BMI is too often ignored. I ignore it. I'm 5' 10" (mabye 11") and I weigh 200 lbs. :D

Although, in terms of heart strength, that varies with genetics and so many other factors...I'm confusing myself again....walls closing in...room getting dark...HELP!

Re: Goldbond: No.

Re: Valek.

Yes, muscle size does not have "everything" to do with a good cardio workout but there are many different types of fitness. The people with the healthiest hearts won't be the skinny guys that can run, it will be the muscular athletic builds. Like you said, there are many variables to heart health and if you are skinny and running you're missing out on some very important ones.

And also genetics is a huge factor.

The BMI scale is just very wrong. It's good as an average starting point at best. It's good for fat people that may not realize they are fat. However, if you are muscular and athletic then you're best off ignoring it and going with what you know is healthy(they do teach these sort of things in schools, though it's amazing how little people know about health.)

Good example of a healthy dude that would look obese on the BMI scale? A rugby player. Probably one of the best overall levels of fitness come from this sport but would seem very unhealthy on the BMI. I guarantee their resting heart rate is insanely low and they're sooner to die from brain damage than any heart related problems. :)

Because of all the tackles, or because of all the booze between the games? :D

so the original post was about a longtime veteran's pinnacle character harassing a level 43 character off the game on a Friday night at a time where the game barely has any players to begin with. anyone want to address that?

no, i don't believe we did. i think i even saw someone post that if they "don't like the way things are then this isn't the game for you". Not trying to reheat things but i feel we all seemed to miss something crucial in this thread. at this point these kinds of attitudes are killing the game.

Oh, I'd rather be FAT and HAPPY, than fit and miserable. This is the one and only standard i use when considering my wieght. at 180 i'd be ripped like jesus,

to clear up the what man is over 18 and weighs 135 lbs. I do. I wrestled 112 in high school, 125 in college and find it weighing even this much to be a challenge of intake. I think my metabolism is screwed up from the years of semi-starvation. 137.6 lbs this morning...a decent day from fight weight at any time. Come see me in FL...if/when you the motivation to defeat the allures of a fork much less another person.
