If people would be so kind as to follow some guidelines to make it more easily readable and sifted through I would appreciate it. 1. One idea per post, that is one change, one "group" of skills that currently exist. Or one new skill to help improve the class. 2. Please follow this format: 3. Avoid talking about anything but specifically the skill. We dont need to hear, how it will improve them... what to take away in place of it. How it will balance things, how it will impact other things. I just want to see some ideas thrown around, I've been gone for a long time and I hate to see one of the leading DK players ever to exist tell me he cant play DKs anymore, because they are so sorely underpowered. ainbimagh Posted March 4, 2006 Author Report Share Posted March 4, 2006 Malform weapon syntax: cast 'malform weapon' I suggest removing the detrimental effects of dying with a malformed weapon completely, and doubling the requirement to making it stronger. That doesn't mean they have been weakened, but that they won't reach their peaks as quickly. Whoever told you that dkns have been 'weakened' so they can't play dkns anymore is just having a hard time being patient. This concept that dkns have been 'weakened' is absolutely ridiculous. Well you are incorrect there has been MORE than just that change to the skill malform weapon alone and OTHER skills as well, secondly there is a HUGE thread on WHY DKs are weaker now than they were.. Thirdly I specifically request format for this and not discussion on how/who/why/what/where.. and no one has the decency to honor that or stay off of the thread... so might as well just lock thread and forget about it. The Greased Weasel Posted March 5, 2006 Report Share Posted March 5, 2006 The only changes to DK's ive noticed since 1.0 is the lowering of speed in wich malforms raise at, as well as experience is divided between malforms if you are dual wielding, and the change to cleave. Where in 1.0 I LOVED seeing people get hewn in twain, combined with malforms that made dk's uber scary especialy when you could get certain weapons that made you a cleaving machine Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm of the opinion that they've been weakened a good deal, and are a bit weaker than some of the other classes, especially for still having a 300 exp penalty. Thats just..mind boggling..he knows more about the class than anyone I know. The man has played a crapton load. And as far as Dks go, they are NOT weak. Mal changes, Fireball toning, they aren't so hot right now, and more to the point (and i want to be clear here) IT IS TIME BETTER SPENT USING THE DK MELEE ABILITIES. DK theory is a fast attack, fast kill. Spending valuble combat rounds on spells which may or (and if you are fighting anyone who'd be a threat) WILL not work, when you could be bashing/disarming/tripping/disarming/shield disarmng/the old flee and enter bashlock is entirely absurd. If your punk DK spells land, 9 out of 10 times you didn't need them anyway. "Physically" they seem fine. Making DK malforms easier to get to full power, as well, good idea. Doesn't have to be a huge boost. Just a little something to get them through. Opinion, not fact. I have played a DK to 50. I don't want to be flamed, because it makes me sad and then mad. Thank you. You posted in an open forum, and the topic is still on topic, this is what happens. You do not maintain ownership of the thread, you have no overwhelming control of the thread unless you take it some how by creating a topic that is not to specific, or is specific enough but covers all the bases. Your posting guidelines were not enough to keep some people on the track you wanted, it happens. Sucks sometimes, but it happens. Also, if you want people to take an idea thread seriously, I'd try and put it in the Idea's Section of the forum and not the general section.
