Iyorvin
Just been hearing some mentions of the two tiered system, and as far as I'm concerned, and I don't know why Raar hasn't jumped on me yet, it is alleviating all of my concerns, and would allow me to play here competitively, in a casual sense. I really like almost everything said. What I want to know, as some people are mentioning that it is coming, and it sounds like soon? Is if an Immortal can give me an update to the status, time frame, and/or changes made to the original idea. Or point me in the direction to the updated information. Some questions I have, that sparked right away. Will I be able to get TRUSTED status as a standard character, in my select cabal? If the answer is no, I'd like to really push for this option. I think being a casual gamer should be a viable option, and although I do agree leadership of said cabals should be restricted, trusted status would be a much better cap, or in the least, be a viable option to be used at the immortals discretion. Are standard players going to be considered casual gamers, and still contribute in a more complete and fleshed out way, or is this only a stepping stone to allow newer players to transition into hard core mode? When you say non-rares can not be looted, does this mean bags, consumables, and scrolls/wands or other items of such nature? Also, can these things be stolen via thieves? What about outlawed characters who are of a standard nature? Will they lose everything when captured, or do they fall under the same rules as hard core players, in this nature. Iyorvin
Another one, Will standard players be restricted in ANY way, from receiving ROLE PLAY based rewards, such as tattoo's and even quest class/races? If the answer is conditional, will a clear definition of what is role play and pk rewards be given?
Malchaeius
It is 95% coded and working on Test Port. Cabals may or may not be getting a re-arrangement of skills. Some tweaks here, some discarding there - perhaps even some new ones - all in the interest of keeping things fresh. I can tell you that Vampire and Avatar will not be available to those who seek the alternate tier. Furthermore, Undead is somewhat moot in terms of protections from looting. Tattoos are available. Psycho Child
How many people App for a tat? Now I havn't apped for one recently, but I've never had an app for a tat rejected. I just don't think they are a popular thing for people to apply too.
MeleeCrazy
I have a question, what will happen when it is implemented? Will we have a pwipe, or will we have to choose from one or the otherwith our current chars..you get what i'm saying.
The Professor
Demela, Tnaris, Drayson, and Dilorry are the latest crew to recieve tattoo's some have long since retired, but you can still see a few from time to time. The two-tiered system has alot of potential. I could see how tweaking a few cabal skills/spells to apply to one tier or the other would make a good bit of sense. I really am curious as to how everything is going to play out...quite excited actually.
tassinvegeta
Drayson never got a tattoo though he did apply for one. And you're forgetting Rhazhakhazar.
The Professor
Never met or seen Rhazhakhazar...hence, why they were not listed. Could have sworn Drayson got one, he surely deserved it, but I am mistaken easily enough...
Guest emp_newb
I never knew what tattoos did. Does it have stats. Is it a big "I rped my face off and got inked the **** up." I feel left out:( Time to write an app.
Jacobis
Tattoos are very nice and are religion oriented. I would not apply for one. They are earned by being THE example of your religion, RP and PK wise.
Psycho Child
Tats rock. I love em. Cryptys was kinda annoying while ranking though. ^^
The Professor
there is a help file IG about tattoo's. most all of them are more beneficial than anything with varied affects. over the years I have been lucky enough to have 4 different kinds, but 3 of those were back in 1.
Malchaeius
I have a question' date=' what will happen when it is implemented? Will we have a pwipe, or will we have to choose from one or the otherwith our current chars..you get what i'm saying.[/quote'] There will be no pwipe. Everyone will be in the tier that they are in right now. There will be a two week grace period where characters in game can simply write a note to immortal asking to be placed in the alternate tier. After that two week period has ended, characters can only decide upon creation.
Aulian
Tattoos are very nice and are religion oriented. I would not apply for one. They are earned by being THE example of your religion, RP and PK wise. Disagree... Like anything people have to wait decades to be noticed, its no ones fault its just because of a small pbase and immortal interaction coupled with different playing times. So like anything, if you want to get noticed, shove it out there that you are trying to get noticed by sending an app. Ghadryn and Dumela got his tat after an app, I dont think I would of gotten it otherwise and I also dont think I could play closer to my religion (although different styles on each character). The question being would either of those chars have gotten the tat if they didnt apply? My answer is leaning towards no (and I cant see why they shouldnt have.) Iyorvin
I have to agree with Aulian here; from my experience, tattoo's are not a regular occurring thought in an immortals head, and therefore, rarely handed out. I think, really cool things like that, should be a 'try to find' candidate selection. Like undead, where you want only one undead (insert class here), you want one tattoo/religion being worn around, if the said candidate exists. As tattoos are so rare now, and if that is the way immortals are thinking already, then I really thing standards need to be lowered slightly. This is the pbase that is here, and hopefully here to stay. It would be wishful thinking to want us to be better, but we're not.
Jacobis
All valid points. You are free to app for one. You are free to app for anything. You most likely will still made to wait, while the IMM in question watches you to make sure you're worthy. So if you app, or the IMM notices you, you still have a wait. So, what's better? Waiting on that app response, or being surprised by a transfer?
Aulian
Knowing you have a possible shot through subing an app... If an imm said, "I am considering you for my mark," then no app would be needed. Seeing as that DOES NOT HAPPEN, how the hell are we supposed to know if we are even thought of in that respect? EDIT: Also how does one determine the best played religion(By that I mean the play that best represents the religion enough for a tat)? Dumela was played as the holy avenger, you attack anything I didnt like I'd attack you and try and kill you with everything I had... Ghadryn was played to teach people about nature and to try and explain why doing such things was a bad idea or could be done better another way. Both IMO are perfect ways for the nature religion to be played, who would decide, without an app explaining your religion following style, that you were worthy of a tat? Could have sworn Drayson got one, he surely deserved it, but I am mistaken easily enough...[/quote'] Well thank you. His God was his reason for doing nearly everything albeit twisted as it was. I don't think Drayson spoke more then a couple sentences without mentioning his name though playing a dk to its fullest capabilities and keeping strong rp can be difficult at times. Oh man he was fun to play. I have really been pondering whether I should bring him back. Just thinking about it is giving me goosebumps.
The Professor
From the perspective of victim(cause you, of any player I most feared, even gave one of my char's their one and only death), challenger(challenger cause I couldn't beat you), and "sorta" friend(cause you didn't attempt to kill my Herald)...Drayson was AWESOME (PERIOD) If you would have stuck with him, of course you could always bring him back, he would surely have his name up on that Hall of Fame someday. IMHO Tnaris should come back too...he was working on a few good things, but never quite stuck with it.
Aulian
Think he meant "how would they decide?" Yeah without the application process... How would he know when/how to decide without some sort of in depth RP to find out or an application.

Mudder
I agree with Aulian, if I wanted an tattoo, I would apply for it once I felt I was worthy. Though I agree with how it currently is. Rare. Tattoos should be one of the most rare things in game. It adds to the mystery AND the achievement of getting one. They most certainly should never become commonplace. Like an avatar.
