Dont be soft' date=' there are vets out there willing to share anything you want to know in PM or something, just not on the forums. If you really want to know, you just have to ask.[/quote']

I'm not sure how you extrapolated soft out of that, and I do ask people if I notice a particular thing I am curious about. Yes, there are a lot of really decent people here who will steer you in the right general direction. I'm just saying that someone who doesn't e-know some of you as long as I have might not be comfortable asking you or anyone else for a particular nugget of knowledge. Eh... Maybe I just don't like being told I cannot do something. I was a very O.D.D. kid and was convinced growing older knocked it out of me...I could be wrong and it just lurks beneath a little more tact. On top of all that...I do enjoy being the voice of the god awful, don't even consider a cabal other than Herald PKers out there.

I think that SOME information should be looked into to see if it is ok to be leaked through the forum, or atleast a general hint to place someone in the right direction. No I don't think that Cabal, Qrace or Qclass abilities should simply because we need to leave something for a new player to discover.

Malform weapon has always been good, but the time it takes to make it good is ridiculous and props to who ever sticks it out to make one to level 10.

In my experience versing Dk's they can roll you within a few rounds if you are not prepared but on the other hand I have seen on many occasions barely equipped staff wielding ogre warriors bash a level 10 wielding dark knight into the floor without sanctuary, I even saw it done to Narnokles. Also there is nothing more funny than seeing a dark knight being bashed 3 times in 6 rounds by his own charmie, Drayson experienced this once.

Dk's need the power from malform or I wouldn't go near the class.

I've fought Imseik and Masokant, several times each. I only died once due to a very short sided decision on my part, and their speed at chasing and finishing me. I've held my own decently, and dealt with their neato malform powers. They're hard as hell to fight. So were Lamah, Orodreth, Brendyn, Triathix, and Aokami, who are not dks with full malforms. I see nothing abnormally unfair about malforms. I hate them, yes. :D

heh, sorry Masokant!

As Daegondar, I did really well, I even almost killed him but I made a stupid mistake, so the whole being a communer thing and all this other jazz, its skill and a roll of dice, believe me, I still have alot to learn about playing.. :P

Looking forward to killing some of your chars on my next project..

I'm sitting here reading this and laughing a fair bit a the misinformation this thread - much of it coming from players who should know better.

I count twenty-five players (including myself, excluding IMMS) who have posted here. Of those twenty-five, I know six have had malforms in high lvls and probably have a good idea what they are talking about. I'll spot you three more who I don't know - so if we say nine have done what is being talked about that would mean....

APPROXIMATELY ABOUT TWO THIRDS OF THE POSTERS HERE ARE TALKING OUT OF THERE @$$

Given that not everyone has complained or whined about malforms, however, I believe this should make my point. For those too thick to get it I'm pointing out that if you haven't had a DK and made high lvl malforms (assume I mean lvl 8+) you probably want to do this before you chime in that its not fair. Until then you have absolutely ZERO idea of the several pounds of flesh that is poured into getting high level malforms.

I have had two lvl 10 malforms when it was 'easier' to get them - and that's not to say it was easy to do. Playing six hours a day (five to six days a week) while caballed (leader) I think it took me just over two months to get them there. I lost count of how many malforms I lost during this time. Time to do that would be DOUBLE these days - which is more like TRIPLE since people either AVOID you once you get going or PUT EFFORT into ridding you of you malforms. For everyone who let the current DKs get themselves 2 lvl 10 malforms I have the following to say:

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!

Malform has been weakened a lot during my time here. Its harder than ever to keep a malform these days. I think a bunch of you haven't faced a scary DK in a while and this is a wake-up call.

Perhaps Pali said it best some time ago about DKs:

'If vampires are like race cars ie fast but easy to crash, DKs are like Mac Trucks. It takes a long time to get them fully loaded up, but once its there its bloody hard to stop it.'

Seriously, go play a DK and see how 'easy' it is. I condeathed a qrace DK before I got a malform half way to fully powerful. Despiser played many DKs and I think he condeathed two or three before he got a full powered malform.

L-A

PS - oh yeah, when you next fight a DK with malforms have a look at EVERYTHING they are doing. There is a BIG GLARING weakness that can be exploited here (those who know STFU we all know malforms info doens't go here).

PPS- Not to mention rangers have been a VERY popular class and its one a DK can have some serious trouble with.

Every week someone gets beat by someone else and suddenly such and such is overpowered. It gets old real fast. Malforms are fine. A big warrior should have very little trouble with a DK. It is all relative. If you haven't noticed classes are designed to be checks and balances on the other classes. DKs/Malforms are far from overpowered.

My first DK, one who I will forget to name because I don't care to let everyone know it was me, got a level 10 malform, and did quite well.

I currently don't care about the current malforms. They're fightable, and I have fun fighting the players with them. And yes, I nearly condeathed my DK (6 deaths left?) when I quit playing -- simply because I got tired of getting killed by 3 or 4 people over and over and over ;)

But I got my share of kills, and I enjoyed the mystic side of malforms. :) And it surely didn't take me 2 months to get one level 10, I don't think. Perhaps a month, but I never did get two, because I didn't have enough lives!

I completely agree. My big warrior in WM had no problem with Masokant. :)

Heh... I have no memory of saying that... nor does it really sound like something I'd say, to be honest. ;) I do agree with it 100% though.

Guest emp_newb

I actually think it was Virigoth.

But I remember the analogy being about a sports bike. You can go insanely fast, and be almost untouchable, but it is also VERY easy to eat **** and die.

Haha. I love how all the quotes are getting re-interpreted. Memories change over time.

I remember Viri's quote being a high performance sports car analogy. It's a damn good ride but any small slip up will cost you your life. (Obviously I am re-interpreting the original idea because I can't remember it word for word. But the high performance sports car I believe is word for word.)
