Deptore
We have a new system coming out soon, why are people complaining about it being the same for so long with such a big change coming? About the only thing I'd add would be RP classes.

HouselessRogue
Definately don't think its dead' date=' but its just been exactly the same my entire 6 years of being here (with the exception of a couple of areas and some class tweaks and blademasters).[/quote'] It is not the same at all. Lots of things have changed. Whole areas are gone. Some are revamped. Blademasters, yup. Umm... liches. Tribunal is here, justice and conclave are gone. And a few of us n00bs learned a thing or two. Jedi_Donkey
I still think that requirements should be lowered for certain things. Cabals: Should stay the same requirements in terms of hours required for entrance and to remain in the cabal. People in cabals should be active and seen more often than not. Nothing is more sad than having a cabal with 10 members, and seeing 1 couple days. I think it should take 50+ hours to gain entrance in a cabal, and then some amount of hours per month to remain in the cabal. Races: Should be lowered in terms of wait time. 20+ hours for a race, why make someone wait an eternity for a new class? Requirements of pk/rp of course stay the same. But if most races are pre-30. I got lvl 30 in 14 hours with my latest character and he's trained quite well. Why so much more waiting? Classes: Should be lowered in terms of wait time. 45+ hours for a class, it's very upsetting to have to put in SO much of my free time on a character just to make it to the class I've been waiting for. Especially for me, right now I have an incredible amount of time because I'm out of school and work is light due to personal circumstances I would never discuss with anyone outside my real life. But in under a month my life will go back to about 5 hours a week playtime. Not that I don't want to play, I just won't be able to. Ok, I know what most people say. Then roll a class/race you don't have to wait/work for. What is my answer to that? Why play the game as what I've played for the last god knows how many years? That's like beating the same RPG 100 times, and expecting a completely different game on the 101st time. Myself and many others would like to play the classes we've never played, or just had a chance to play once. I just don't understand why the players that don't have enough time to play/work on a character, are being in a sense punished for that. It feels to me like having a life is a failure to the community of FL...
TheNewGuy
You're kinda speaking against yourself when you first demand super-activity for cabalists, and then say that it takes too much time to get a qrace/qclass. People in cabals have no right to a life, then?
Deptore
I'll comment on some of your stuff there: Cabals- I agree whole heartedly that it's more fun to see active cabal members, but like you said should we punish people that won't have enough time to play/work on a character? Should they not be able to have one just because they only get to play 5-10 hours a week? I would however lower the level requirements to what they used to be, I loved joining cabals at lower levels and progressing within the cabal as I leveled my character. It gave me something else to keep me busy as I grew stronger and made me feel more like a part of things than most clans do these days. Races & Classes: I combined these two because it seems you have the same complaint about both, the wait time to receive them. What makes you think that they should be handed out so easily? The wait period is to help make sure the person isn't going to rage delete, can stick with their rp and not grow bored, and to give the IMM ample time to judge the character. The waiting isn't a punishment but a trial for you to go through to recieve something as good as a qrace or qclass. To give them out easier would mean most likely a nerf done to the class since more people would be playing them. People, there is a reason why rare equipment is rare, why qclasses aren't given like candy, and why things that characters work months to do (malform, cabal skills) are the way they are. A Qrace or Qclass isn't that hard to get if you've good RP, from my experiences good RP can work more for you than good PK during your waiting time. Don't let a waiting period daunt you. This isn't a strike at you Jedi, but it seems that almost every post I read lately is someone thinking that things in game that are worked so hard for should be weakened or given to others. Grim_Reefer
I personally think things like qraces and cabals should be WAY harder to get.
The Professor
Side note: Nietzsche also said "God is dead"' date=' Poet or not, I never listened to another word he said.[/quote'] I don't mean to come across as being a "know it all" (I will be the first to tell you I am not) however, you have really taken what he said out of context...completely! "God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we, murderers of all murderers, console ourselves? That which was the holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet possessed has bled to death under our knives." Nietzsche What Nietzsche is concerned at in relating the above is that God is dead in the hearts of modern men - killed by rationalism and science. This same God however, before becoming dead in men's hearts and minds, had provided the foundation of a "Christian-moral" defining and uniting approach to life as a shared cultural set of beliefs that had defined a social and cutural outlook within which people had lived their lives. You really should read The Gay Science. To have the audacity to judge something not in it's entirety is truely folly...heaven forbid any of us are guilty of that. As to the matter at hand...I really think if the RP is there...that's generally where the Imm's will end up. 90% of my char's are almost strictly RP...and I have never failed to gain attention or have several achievements...now, don't get me wrong...MORE Imm's would be beneficial...to the Imm's we already have, even more so than to the players...but that is tricky and not to be taken lightly, selecting something like that would be quite the process....some strictly RP Imm's would be GREAT...it would be wonderful...but do we really need it? I can't say that I really think we do. Just my opinion...
