If you allow some combos first strike it significantly increases their chance of a kill. Ie' date=' you kill this character, then he just sits around, waits for your prot shield or whatever he wants to drop, then jumps you. Guess it just means a hardcore character needs to be forever prepared (which can be quite strenuous) whilst a standard character doesn't have to worry about having sanc up etc all the time. [/quote']

Ruthless characters should ALWAYS be prepared. It's how we are now. We have to always be ready. It is strenuous, but that's how we play. If we wanted something else, we could go moderate, but to what point? A few cheap kills to give up qraces, qclasses, T/E/L promotions....

And woe to the moderate that isn't adequately prepared almost all the time....they get PK'ed by ONE person and have protection from ONE person....there's probably at least five to ten more waiting for a shot....;)

This is 100% wrong.

Well, my malforms are unique now. But I'm sure they were rare before they got to lvl 10. It might be that they don't count as one of the 4 rares you can have in inventory, but they def show as rare when you lore/identify them.

There are. Instead of a red flag, Moderates get ...So far I've seen it once. :)

EDIT: And malforms don't count for the purposes of rare. Make sense? If you get rare-purged, you keep your malforms. For all intents and purposes they are not rare. :)

So ultimately, blue vs. red, did not change the game did it. We have blues winning fights and reds winning fights. Funny thing how people responded to this, and the way it played out. The players of the Blues are often the players who did not want to full loot you anyway, and the players of the Reds are still robbing each other blind. Only comment I have on this looking back, is I feel that the Blues are somehow pitied by the Reds, thus causing the Reds to not be aggressive to them. There are two problems here, first, assume you as a Red are correct and they are not a good pker, then they need the practice do they not? Second, it is false hope, that the Blue before you is not good at PK. He may be a "leet" gone "part timer". At any rate this whole thread reminded me of the Y2K incedent. Truly funny in hind sight.:D

I know a couple of changes went through, but I was confused on moderate, thinking to roll one myself. I was thinking it could be a way to manage a melee that I wouldn't be into doing otherwise. :D

Are all the quotes in the first post still as accurate? I'm not sure what changes went through, or if it's just like this still.
