f0xx
I have been asking around for some time now, some of the people who have played some of the most successful blademasters. None of them managed to give me clear reply though, so now I decided to bring my questions before you, the vets of FL in hope that you can and will be willing to share the replies with me. There are quite a few logs in which we can see blademasters doing 5 attacks per round with a two handed weapon. I've personally played 2 BLMs at 50. A halflling and a slith. I never managed to get a round in which I Do more than 3 attacks per round with a two handed weapon. EVER. Not even one with 4. On my slith BLM the proficiency at avatar of steel was 99%. My other question is related to the skill avatar of steel itself. Everyone who has played a BLM knows that this skill is a huge pain to train. I've spent a lot of time in minoma doing nothing else but training this skill. I noticed that when I was using a two handed weapon the skills was not improving AT ALL, which basicly means that it does not affect two handed weapon. When I was training while dual wielding I noticed I was getting the usual 5 attacks per round and the skill was normally going up (very slowly, but still going up). So to sum it up: 1. What do I have to do to increase my chances of getting 5 attacks per round with a two handed weapon? 2. Is it normal of avatar of steel to not increase in proficiency when using two handed weapon? Guest emp_newb
I think it is normal yes, but I have definately seen ferals and halfers do 5 attacks in a round with avatar of steel. Not sure about increasing your chances of getting the 5 though. Did you also notice while training twin counter/predict that twin counter goes up, but regular counter does not? Greyanhk
Working on one now. Working on a Blademaster right now. I will no doubt get tooled later, but for now, it is pretty fun. Can't answer the Avatar of Steel skill, haven't gotten high enough yet. As for the twin counter/ counter, I have found that twin counter goes up faster, but I am getting both to increase. Twin goes up with predicting, fairly easily. counter goes up well with fending initial attacks. Grey

Not the damn predict not training counter thing AGAIN. You aren't doing a true counter a la Warriors or Pallies, hence it is not trained.
Malchaeius
Blademasters being able to do 5 attacks with two handed weapons was removed a while back.
Mudder
They received a few (needed) tone downs since original implementation.
f0xx
I understand now, seems like I've been given some wrong information earlier...
Mudder
Yeah well the tone downs they received weren't exactly stated explicitly. "Bladesmasters received a slight tone down on amount of attacks." or something like that.
