Calron
I think you all are honestly overplaying the potential for "abuse" of the moderate category by veterans far too much. Is it possible for someone to make a powerful character with limited rares? Of course. Can that character ever be as powerful as the large majority of combos with a full set of rares? I'm sorry, but no. Notice I didn't say there will be the occasional combos that are just stacked against the odds. These are the same combos that were stacked against the odds pre-change. The only difference is the underdog now has to fight against a handful less rares. Even if they DO by some stretch beat you, they can only take 2 of your rares. So, as many of you have called this quantity before, you lose "nothing". There is also the fact that the people that roll those "power combos" want to be the best. I'd be surprised if there are any top notch PKers that think to themselves "Well, I'm ok with being pretty decent as long as I'm not risking everything." No, because these are the people that can clear their PK range and re-equip to decked-ness without much trouble. A top notch PKer could be scary as a Moderate. But you can bet that they aren't going to be sending most of the other top notch PKers in the Ruthless tier running. And what is the point of being top notch if you aren't, after all, the tops. -Totenkopf-
Heh, I can see a DK doing very well as a moderate. You die, you don't lose much, you are immediately back on your feet again. Makes it alot harder to loose your malforms and alot easier to get them leveled up. There is literally no down time.

Aulian
Pre-change' date=' nothing. I'm just slightly jealous of the Moderate having less to risk, but then again, they have less to gain. I've been running everyone's arguments through my head.[/b'] Unfortunately, sometimes I'm wiped out and all the mental juggling catches up to me. I also have no problem admitting that I'd be lucky to be in the top 20% of FL based on intelligence. However, as a Reverend, my wisdom score is out there. Honestly comments like this boggle me. Whats stopping YOU from making a moderate character? Hell they get to keep their stuff, cool make one. But you'll have the same restrictions they do. But you'll keep your stuff. One day I will be done with FL. But not until I can check off... 1. Vampire. 2. Demon 3. Crusader 4. Avatar 5. Psionicist 6. Lich 7. Watcher 8. Warmaster 9. Nexus 10. Held Leader position of each cabal once. Yes, I know they're lofty goals, but...*shrug* And I know everyone thinks I'll be here forever trying to accomplish this because I suck balls....but again, whatever.
