Hello Everyone,

Well I tried it here two years ago or so and I had some personal things that kept me from getting very far. I am blind and using a screen reader to play. I use a client cald vip mud and it uses vb script for its scripting language. The hardest thing I have found so far is PK. It is also a little hard sometimes for me to find my way around because I cant use the maps but it is not to difficult. Right now I have an Elven ranger who has chosen the archery path. My question is does anyone have any tips for this class? Thats it for now, but I am sure I will have plenty more.

Thanks for any help you guys can give me,

Ilanthas

Well if you cannot react fast to pks, an archer is the way to go.

Basically my suggestions are as follows:

Master your archery skill, you get access to some BUFF arrows. Then keep the Rapid fire skill up at all times if you can help it. And just shoot at your enemies. Archers are the only class that has no need to EVER be in combat.

Also the elven autosneak feature is pretty good.

Did I read correctly here? You are blind? Or did I misunderstand something

People like you inspire me the most, not just in games but in general. I don't know what to say. I want to help you, I just don't know how. I hope you stay around for longer.

If you need someone to talk to for whatever, feel free to PM me.

Good luck.

Yes you, F0xx, read it right. I have been blind for almost seven years. As a matter of fact it will be seven years next month. I lost my sight due to diabetes. I was diagnosed with diabetes when I was four years old and I am now almost 34. I will be 34 in August. I also am a single father with a six year old son whose name is Tristen. I could make PK a little easier with complex triggers, as well as creating a sound pack but I am not that good at scripting. LOL. I would like to be able to lead groups more, but I am not near as fast as a sighted person. I just hate slowing people down if I lead a group. If anyone wants to check out the client I use it can be gotten from www.gmagames.com.

Thanks for any help,

Ilanthas

Best class for you is Healer. But you cannot PK.

Outside that, use a good cleric.

Good Clerics have spell Portal.

Portal allows you to make a marker in a room and then return to that marker by casting this spell outside of combat. Basically you can reset yourself to that room.

Clerics depend on few spells and can cast most protective spells.

Triggers + Armies = Training cancelled.

Trigger to replace spells = you can't concentrate (after dispel skill/spell)

For the most part, triggers are bad mmmk? LOL Listen to Pali.

As for the Archer, keep a spare ranged weapon that matches the one you create. Carry spare arrows in two containers, maybe a backpack and a quiver.

Thieves never look for a quiver.

That's an alright choice for a beginner, being able to camoflauge will be great because it will give you a longer while to look things over. Personally just for that fact if I were you I'd stick to classes that could camo and hide. I'm not sure how fast you can read but I'd think keeping an eye on all the buffs or other things required in pk will be a trial. I hope you find a way around it.

If I were you I would atleast make sound triggers to let me know when buffs are dropping or when I was disarmed. I wouldn't use any action triggers but the less you're having to scan over the less you'll miss.

Good luck and have fun!

I'm with Dale. I enjoy Mya's input.

And Rev... Mya actually gives input. I have never seen any worthy advice given from you. Though your sermons are sweet and add to the community, in this area you can't touch Mya. :)

She isn't always 100% but who is? Typically if you follow her advice you will always be fine. She never straight up gives bad advice. Worst comes to worst you'll be over prepared.
