mya
This is no different from the way it was pre-change. There is one clarification in a related vein I'd like to make though. The is a diference. If i kill a softcore character and he dirts and prevents me from getting my rightful piece of equipment from his corpse, i cannot kill him again to get it. HArdcore characters, i can and will kill if they do not allow me to take my share. Example of what I have done in the past. Me cleric, he Mino War WArmaster. Before the Elf-mino War. He attacks me out of the Blue while i am getting some armor. I react and kill him. I go about to loot him, and i cannot get what i want. Cannot recall if i actually took anything. He logs off. Next day i see him. I rush and kill him. Recite my Stone Golem and full loot. He comes as a Ghost, i portal. Stupid stone golem does not enter portal. I try to return, he attacks the Golem to get his equipment. He loses protection. I arrive and kill him again. He rage deletes. I get pissed cause i liked him and had helped him rank on other characters. This is what i am refering to. I do not like to do this kind of things. Please can we have a no loot timer after death ? Guest emp_newb
Well, I think that multi killing someone because you did not get your full loot the first time is a bit extreme lol.
Malicious
Someone once posted a thread about why dying sucks in this game more than others - it is because you have a connection and a vested interest in your character... Malch meant to type "Someone awesome, invaluable to the FL playerbase, beastly, awe-inspiring and awesomely awesome once posted..." He PMed me so... I swear... Pali
I've read a number of posts lately' date=' from vets included, talking about how a character could reasonably predict that they would be brought back to life after seeing it happen to those around them. [b']This is not legitimate roleplay. To clarify my position here: I have never said that a char should expect himself to come back after a death. However, after seeing it happen all the time, I think chars justified in expecting others to come back after deaths. While I agree that it is an unavoidable mechanic, I do not see why it cannot be incorporated into the game world as gods choosing to bring back to life their favored pets. While perhaps one should not expect someone to come back after the first time you kill them, after seeing it happens a couple times, you'd think a char would start to expect it. I see it similarly to how I view the who list... it's an OOC mechanic included to make the game more interactive and encourage player interaction, and yet I think it can be incorporated into the game world by considering all characters to be basically the celebrities of FL - their presence is noticed by people, and word travels fast about it. Likewise, quitting is an OOC mechanic, and yet I always attempt to incorporate it into my roleplay by having my character say that there is an event they must attend, or something else that they are going away to do.
