A suggestion for balancing out C/C vs. Melee.

Make protective shield work like spell turning. Spell turning colapses after a few spell attempts, how about we make protective shield collapse after several bash attempts? This will force the caster to flee and put the shield backup and use lots of mana in the process. Maybe this will make even things out for melees?

yea lets take away the edge that c/c has so that you know melee classes don't ahve to work as hard to get that kill. hey while we're at it lets add trip and bash to c/c so that we can lag people and keep'em in battle so that we don't have to chase'em cause man I hate that its so tedious. Sorry i really hate this idea as you can probably tell by the sarcasm.

IMO all tone downs are bad, we should be thinking on how to boost warriors and zerks if a balancing is indeed needed.

You can't use lag as a viable option to 'even' the odds. First off, it takes more tactics to win with a mage then it does with a melee. It seems to me that every melee player thinks "wtf I can't lag? Now what do I do!?!!?!! I'm SCREWED!" Melee is PURE prep work, and then it's pure speed. All you have to do in combat is basically type dirt, murder, or charge. Then you're sitting there waiting for them to flee. If you are fleeing before them, then you're not preped.

Tone downs are the easy way out and a dangerous thing. Once you get into the tone-down mentality, you end up toning down more and more, falling into the ever descending town-down spiral until you reach AR.

I still say we should take sanc away from invokers.

Nah, we should take slay from the IMMs, make them have to actually work for their kills.

Just make sanc able to be bought (infinite item) in the potion stores again and melee's will become a lot more playable. Gold can be a pain to get but if you if you sell an item here and there on your travels its easy enough. Most of the pain I've suffered is the never ending battle to get sanc and trying not to run out during a cabal war.
