Ilanthas
Hello everyone, Earlier today I accepted a challange from Kendrix a goblin psionisist, I believe. I did not even stand a chance. I had a hippogryph and a greater basilisk and they were both killed in like two or three rounds against his pets. HE hit me with something and it did close to 300 points of damage he also somehow EDITTED me and my beasts. How can I protect against something like that? The fight happened so fast I could not even quaff a sparkling vial. This was just a bit to much for me. Thanks, Ilanthas
Imoutgoodbye
Heh....psionicists are a qclass and their skills/spells shouldn't be discussed on the forums.
KRins
Step one is starting the battle with sanctuary already affecting you. Step two is gathering equipment with saves against mental and afflictive spells. Step three is to locate a source of sanctuary for both you and your pets, lengthening your life and their. Step four is use your advantages, such as camouflage, herb, fired weapons, ambush, and other rangery tricks. Step five... Well... I'm still working on step four honestly. f0xx
There is also a consumable which can allow you to cast sanctuary on yourself WHILE in combat. Herbs and one that is made from vials. I would suggest asking around IN GAME about them and advices on how to fight psi's, since the forum rules to not allow us to discuss them.
KRins
I wasn't implying my suggestions are specifically for psi fighting...those are ranger tips in general...not that I do the ranger dance well.
Pieman
Basically it sounds like you were in a little of a un-prepared pickle. This can happen with any class really. I'm a huge fan of preparing one way for say a DK and they fight in a totally different style and you're punked. And it's totally hard to fight things like psions and crusies and vamps, especially if you're new. Vamps will be trouble for everyone even though they do not have many tactics. Psions and Crusies on the other hand are full of surprises and changes that make them unique and totally different fighters, like my crusie Mag and Maerothir have two COMPLETELY different styles (I think his might be better ) Basically that's really something you either have to hope one of your IG pals knows how to deal with or try and try again until you can punk them right back! Pali
Next time you see this psion, strike up a conversation with him. Ask for advice, ask him to teach you about his guild and the powers it grants him.
Croyvern
Since you are new here. Tip One) Recognize any psion as a real threat. Tip Two) Run Away. Not half way across the world, keep fairly close to him. Watch his spells so you will know when they fall. There is a staff you can aquire that will aid with this, ofcourse there are potions as well. Tip Three) Lead him into the wood where the advantage is yours. Tip four) Seriously, Get addicted. Not just to the herbs, but to your character. Tip five) Never be afraid to get up and start over if you fail. Being beat by someone once is one thing, it sucks. Seeing the look on their face when your right back in it, however, is rapture! Have fun.

Dale
Man my first fight at 50 was with my FG warrior dual wielding two fiery weapons, I thought I was tough ****. Then an invoker came up against me with elemental shield. When he was unaffected by everything I had I thought he was cheating. Ahh, good times. Mudder
You mean mana shield Dale? In general those tips are good. Also, as a melee your goal is to cause as much damage to him as possible in the shortest amount of time. Go all out offensive. If you start losing? Flee. Camouflage. Herb. Sleep. Fire some arrows at him occasionally to hurt him. You're an archer right? Use fire arrows to fireblind him. Use poison/disease arrows to halt his regen. You can do all of this while out of combat. f0xx
Also, a very special trick against certain psi's is dirt, order all rescue self.

mya
Don't give up. PK at 30's is all about who gets the drop on who. If you were camufladed, with sanctuary for all, and caught him without it, and just dirted at the start of the tick while dualing two ofensive weapon, you would probably make him cry. There is nothing more horrible to the human mind than a sudden drop. Some people cannot even recognize and adjust, ending up very confused and making mistake after mistake. Also: A staff will always grant spells for all of your followers. So, if you find a staff of sanctuary it will alow to grant you and your pets sanctuary at one use. Mudder
I think Mya is a faker. I think she spells just fine. Why do I think this? I've never met a character IG that talks about all the annoying camofluded rengars that get killed by skilled invockers.
oldskooler
Always fight on your terms not theirs. fight when you're completely ready. don't ever say I guess this is good enough. Have your spells up and have em not ready to run out. Have a game plan and a back-up plan. Think about your weapon options and carry a few different ones. Try dual wielding, using a staff, wearing a shield. Oh and fired weapons is a beast. You don't even have to be in the same room as them which comes in handy for I'd say....everybody you fight. Nothing like doing damage while they sit there running around like a chicken with it's head cut off.

Mali
Also, I would advise typing brief. It will eliminate all the room descriptions, and only show the title of the room you are in. You can still see the descriptions if you type look. I suggest this because the flood of data in a room description is large, and I understand you are blind. Best!
