I agree with Psycho Child, that playing a good is too restrictive. Especially when you can have a good out trying to kill you, but you're not allowed to defend yourself, because woe betide you if you are actually successful.

Perhaps Tribunal should be a neutral only cabal.

Word. The fact that a healer can aggressivly persue and execute an Avatar who did nothing but destroy an undead who happened to be in a town...and if the Avatar doesn't have mercy and defends himself *bam* outcast to denied. Healer? For executing an Avatar who was destroying an undead? Props. To my knowledge this situation has not YET happened... But that is how it is set up. And THE GOOD ALIGNED TRIBUNAL KNOW IT! THEY KNOW THEY ARE IN A WIN WIN SENARIO WHEN CHASING A GOOD ALIGNED CRIMINAL! Even if they die, they KNOW that they still come out on top, and that the criminal will be punished even MORE if they loot so much as a single gold coin! If I were a good aligned Tribunal, I'd be sitting there damn near begging goodies to break the law. Free cp's and loot all day long with no risk!

Either goods should not be allowed into Tribunal, or we need to take a long look at how we handle "good" aligned RP in this game, and the HARD CODED penalties assigned to it, that neuts and evils do not have to deal with. Want to gimp that Good aligned invoker fighting you? Summon a bunch of low level good aligned mobs in the area. Either he can no longer use AoE, or he has to explain to the imms why he cast ice storm on that poor little sapling and got damnation. And I don't want to hear that crap about how "requesting" balances it out. Well more than half the time, it would be quicker and easier for me to kill the damn mob and loot the sucker. And I'd get ganked alot less in the meantime. At lower levels too!

Well, if you commit a crime in real life it doesn't matter if the Police Officer, Judge, or Jury are good people or not. It doesn't matter if you are a good person or not. You are there to answer for your actions. Sometimes murder will get you executed regardless of the will of the Tribunal officer who brought you in.

Actually that depends on the will of the Jury. Also murder can be found to be justified in a court. In Aabahran, there is no trial, no judge, no jury. Just an officer, and the executioner. If the officer says you committed the crime, than thats it, you committed it, end of story, off with your head. Comparing it to real life is not really useful.

This is a situation of Ethos trumping over Align, and possibly Religion and possibly Guild and possibly Race. Where is the Outcast line drawn? Obviously thats up to the Imms, but it seems that Tribunals are always given a free pass when dishing out the law that they are never at risk of it.

To elaborate further on the point of real life.

There are good cops and there are bad cops. There are also good crimes and bad crimes. If I rob from the rich and give it to the poor, am I a good man? Especially if the rich stole it from the poor to begin with?

A more local story for me is a Father who killed the drug dealer that supplied his daughter and destroyed her life. The father still had to sit in jail, regardless of how 'good' his intentions may have been.

Furthermore, the good aligned character is only bringing you to jury, and not killing you on the spot. Based on your own actions the cities themselves determine your sentence (for the most part).

This is a conversation that has came up a million times before, and to be honest, I agree 100%. Tribunal is a cabal that frankly, pisses way too many people off to have aligns attached to it. I have always argued it should be a neutral only cabal, but it is a discussion that has been shot down a million times before.

Finally, regardless of what you feel SHOULD be, you must live with what IS. Currently there ARE good aligns in Tribunal, and you MUST act on that and swallow your own pride for the sake of RP. This won't happen though, because currently our player base is filled with so much ego that it has became an RP of its own. It's almost like every sentence spewing from every mouth is a twist of 'I'm better than you'.

I'll stop now, but I will say we did have interactions, and you breached alignment restrictions, and because I'm thin skinned, you really had a negative impact on my return.

Please discuss the matter of alingns in Tribunal in a separare thread.

PS: If there are several Tribunals around, they better have the non-good one hunt the wanted goodies.

I have had some ****ty experiences with a few current tribs lol. One healer told me I could die in prison because of addiction. Another one ran in bashing me while I was fighting, let the other warrior stun me, kill me, and partially loot me instead of capturing me. The one that told me I could die was a healer, and I was a goodie as well, and there was also an outlaw, and several other wanted people on, and he would not go after them hehe.
