Lexi
If I was the fire warrior, I would probably be enlarged, use a fire polearm/mace and bash. However, I've never played one so I'm not certain it'd be enough.
Trick
I agree that the ogre has just as much of a vuln as a FG, but I am confident the ogre will be doing more damage to the FG than vice versa in a ranged confrontation. As much as I hate bringing up personal experience as its situational, you mentioned it first. I have played my fair share of rangers and three of them were archers in three different cabals and I have yet to encounter an FG that has made my archers have a hard time. One of which being Despiser's FG warrior reaver. In this incident I was a halfling archer Justice. If a hafling is able to escape the wrath of a bash spamming FG then I am 100% confident that an ogre is. If need be, I will polish up some logs and submit them of my archery. They are very bland and consist of moving around and shooting. Very boring to read. In no way are my comments theories, but more so results of personal experience. Perhaps Aulian, being an experienced archer, can add his opinion on this. -Trick EDIT: I am, in no way, trying to say I am right and everyone else is wrong. I am just very confident in the ability of a ranger archer put in the proper hands.
-Totenkopf-
I think you'll find a halfling more likely to be able to evade a bashlock then an ogre, IMHO.
Malchaeius
Sad to see you go. I had a lot of interactions with you at one point - though I doubt you knew it.

From the sounds of your experience, all of it was before a major change to the way archery works. All of the same stats and variables will be in play, as far as I'm aware. If you search the forums, you'll find I've played a few rangers as well.

Trick
I am fully aware of the rangers you have played, two that I believe are famous and one of the two extremely famous. I wouldn't go as far as to say my rangers were anywhere near your level of reputation, but that doesn't affect my personal opinion. I could argue this until we are both blue in the face, the fight could be completely skill based and even more so completely situational, mechanically speaking, I don't see the FG winning. -Trick
