Jedi_Donkey
I'm curious, why is everyone shelving their characters these days? I really miss a lot of the evils/goods that have done so. Can't think of any neutrals right this minute that are doing it. I hope it's not for reasons like: A) Too difficult of time because there are too many goods around. Been waiting for something so long you've lost interest in your character. C) Just become bored with that class/race/cabal. D) Lack of viable RP/PK. I know if it's PK you're looking for, be that evil cause there are SO many goods, if it's the RP, find my characters. I RP all day long. Please come back shelved guys. I miss you. tassinvegeta
For me its usually. Been waiting for something so long you've lost interest in your character. However a couple of other reasons for me would be. E) Roll a new combo and realized it wasn't what I expected it was going to be. F) Messed up so bad by an ic mistake usually punishable by imm interaction that the guilt and shame is too much for me to bear to go on. I tend to hang in there regardless of the other reasons. I miss you. i considered shelving for these reasons... i enjoyed balanced wars, everything tends to seem alot more 1-sided lately. that and i pretty much refuse to play with a decked cabal leader running around. some of those powers are just stupid.... i mean really.. that COMPLETELY shuts down 2 classes + life insurance... Mali
that and i pretty much refuse to play with a decked cabal leader running around. The answer to this is to run! There are other decked cabal leaders out there that may deal with them for you.
jibber
I shelved because I am very much into my character, and need some time to flesh out how to keep myself from getting killed every which way. I feel ashamed that I have .. what I think to be people I can kill very readily, killing me 24/7, and me not being able to get equipped to counter such things as.. well, case in point, Uruvion paralyzing me with a special thing, dispelling me, then using another special thing for a 2 rounder. Oh, and sanctuary falling in between all of that. Good job by the way. Complete newb mistake from me sticking around with 0 hour sanctuary. Although that's not what put me out, it's things like that, that make me rethink a character and rethink how I'm going to play him in the PK aspect. My RP has kept me going on Zaulael for a very long time... but shelving a character should be no problem as long as you sacrifice all of your rares. Pali
shelving a character should be no problem as long as you sacrifice all of your rares. The exception to this, I think, is chars that are taking up cabal/qrace/qclass spots. In a sense, it is the same as holding onto rares... you're taking up something that is limited in availability with an inactive character.

Twinblades713
I've never experienced getting denied a spot because of this. I have seen more than one demon of the same class, and more than one undead of the same class. I think there are three liches, which will soon turn into two, there have been like 4 vamps. I don't see the problem here.
jibber
The moment an immortal asks me to delete my character to open up spots on a qrace, is the moment I actually delete. I've yet to have any of them ask me to delete. I think I deserve, at the least, a small little vacation from playing Lich so I can get my head screwed back on
