Newer Players, like Klemkin...

This first part is for newer players. (The ones that have come in the last year or so...)

Firstly, most of us would like to apologize for any abusive treatment you may have received or feel you have been put through. As much as D&D was based on psychology, this mud is just as mired in that and it is the alter ego that most often represents itself through the anonymity of these forums and the mud. And some people take this game so seriously as to start berating others for their success because they have not yet attained it. Defining success, unfortunately, seems to be dependent on what shinies you have, what cabal rank you got, did you get a qclass/race, and so on and so forth. Not what you've made your character into, but what did your character get.

And now, for anyone who's been here longer than a year and is feeling a little jealous...

SUCK IT UP!

I never got a chance to interact with Klemkin and I greatly desired to speak with him on my current character. Your character is your level of success, not what you have, not what you got....and I have no room to speak here, but I will! You can go ahead and point out all the deletes because I thought I wasn't going to get undead or I failed the quest or whatever, but I've come to realize I was full of crap! I should be playing to have fun and that's it! Why should fun and success be measured by imaginary titles and fake items on a character that exists only in our minds and in the code of some far away server farm?

The only thing we have real here is each other and I don't care how gay that sounds! The IMMs can code until their damn fingers bleed, RP until they're blue in the face (I know, Zhokril doesn't have a face), but until we pull our acts together, no one's going to want to stay here.

Whine about skills, spells, whatever. Don't whine about people. And for the millionth time, if you think you have a serious problem, you know where the Prayer Forum is. You know how to send a note to Immortal. Do it! We, the PB can do nothing except be a lynching mob and that's something we shouldn't be. Too many people let their emotions get in the way. Trust me, I know emotion.

So, yeah, let's do something here. Let's be better.

I will just add this to you Klemkin -

I've been here for a *really* long time and still haven't had a character which people have talked about, hated, called buttbuddies with the immortals, flamed and sent hate mails too. I wish I could be as fast learner as you, but I am not. I wish I have the guts to stay online against multiple opponents, but I would often find myself quitting. I still haven't played a single qclass/qrace.

New people like you isnpire and make me try even harder to imrpove.

this pisses me off more than anything... i cant tell you how many times i am in lvl30 gear still defending our cabal while trying to re-gear and some chicken**** decides to quit because he has to actually earn a kill.

If knight is donig good, everyone makes a knight, if watcher is doing good all the watchers come out of the woodwork, if syndicate is doing good, they fill up... People are so busy stacking teams it makes it less fun for them and their competition. Nobody wants to compete with 4 guys for a kill and nobody wants to fight 4 guys to stay alive.
