Sandbox
and i appreciate that, however my biggest problem was lack of support during cabal warfare, and the elders really didnt do much for anyone other than themselves, 9/10 times they threw me under the bus... i just expected alot more rp at 50 and alot more mentorship... there's nothing requiring these people to do that, just would have been nice at times is all. Trick
Did you ask for assistance? A lot of times in cabals like Nexus you almost have to declare yourself someone's slave before they take you under their wing. -Trick
H&R
Masokant is more of a loner who doesn't look after everyone under him as long as they're doing what they should. If you want his advise/help you need to approach him. That being said, I know I haven't been very active in the last few days, mostly because the weather has been very nice Hope you'll come back. Enjoy your other char(s)
Mali
Nexus was never about catering to the weak. It is a trial by fire that might actually take you straight to hell, or worse.
Twinblades713
Yeah, whilst Nexus might be my favorite cabal to claw my way through... it's definitely not a softcore learning environment. You have people wanting to kill you from the outside, people wanting to kill you from the inside, people you want to kill that are mostly just alive, people who don't know you want to kill that you want to kill, etc. BUT! It's freaking awesome. Imagine you're in a room with bladed pendulums, fire spouts on the ground and walls, and 7 massive hungry tarantulas. Nexus tends to keep you on your feet a little bit more. Implementor Anume Posted June 27, 2009 Implementor Report Share Posted June 27, 2009 Now either stay uncaballed and make an eq learning char or make a WM. Challenge everyone. You'll die slightly less, esp. if you play a neutral.
Deykari
+1 on the neutral WM. You'll find plenty of people willing to help at the moment, and you'll get a lot of exposure to fighting through a lot of friendly duels. Possibly go as far as to say make it moderate. Pieman
Although if you want to learn eq and not die, I do suggest a goodie cleric or pally. Everyone will want you to come along on "field trips" and you'll have less enemies. Knight and Herald would be two good cabal choices if you want to get the whole cabal warfare thing down perfectly. f0xx
Everyone will want you to come along on "field trips" and you'll have less enemies. That same thing goes for a neutral mele anything
Pieman
Where I do agree with that, ALL melees are less survivable than a pally or cleric no matter what.
samag08
Clerics are better for learning equipment in my opinion. Pallies are survivable and deadly in the right player's hands, but if you are just learning they require lots of scrolls to keep id'ing the equipment and as a newer player it can be tough to keep the constant influx of gold coins coming along. Clerics are even more surviveable and can ID for free.

tassinvegeta
I know you're grateful but keep in mind that I remember a time when only the baddest mofo's could ever think about getting into nexus. It was the last cabal I attempted to get into and it probably took me at least three tries after years of playing experience to actually get in. mya
Come on, if you newbies are dieing left and right and losing gear, change to the Restricted Tier. You will learn a lot more if you can manage to keep some sort of eq under your feet. Some of the Non rare eq is quite buff, you just need to find it. And you cannot find it, if you keep getting killed and looted. Also, Nexus is a bad cabal to get help due to RP reasons. Knights would more helpful. Or Watchers. Make a Dwarf Cleric, stay uncabaled. Learn stuff then join Knights and learn cabal stuff. Combat is a good option, just look at Patreus and the long line of Knight Dwaven Clerics before him. Mudder
Actually I second Mya's Watcher suggestion. In that cabal it is likely you will get help from both Watcher and Tribunal. Go the less traveled route of Warder so you can somewhat avoid all the buff qraces. Though WM is better, Watcher is a good second. Definitely make a Moderate. Sometimes even I'm tempted to go Moderate. I just hate full loots all around.
alldaymuddin
Forget it! Come on' date=' if you newbies are dieing left and right and losing gear, change to the Restricted Tier.[/quote'] I die all the time, I get looted all the time, I might even complain alil but I love it, it forces you to get better, faster, accept it and be happy when you get back to your corpse and have all your stuff knowing that they could have took it all. I will never switch, RUTHLESS for life!
