I could have swear they did. The last mud i played had the shadow stalions for fades sneak. But alas, i lended my copy to my brother.
And you will slow down once you hit book 4. That stone 200 pages is boring.
And who uses goliath, that is a emergency aid. I could tell you horror stories about that horse. Nothing like a white charger or warhorse/elephant.
And if people can mount bats, why cant bats sneak ? After all they fly...
look
Mya is here, beating a dead horse.
I do get it. Paladin's are much better mounted, BUT, do you have to be mounted all the time? That's what I was getting at with flying. Mount just before, and during combat.
actually, I think the goliath would make an interesting charmie, rather than simply spell effect...not talking about balance or anything
I also think that certain non-communer (but including paladins maybe) classes should get a shield tech that blocks arrows (to encourage shield use).
on its face, sneak-able mounted combat sounds ridiculously overpowered. however, maybe with the giant bat only, at a cost of 50-75k instead of 10 or 15 how it is now. wouldnt make any RP sense whatsoever, but it would be fun.
I nsupport of Mya, I will have to point out that there ARE certain fantasy novels where the horses do sneak.
In particular, I am thinking of the Obsidian Trilogy (of which I still agerly await the third and final book), in which there are certain horses bred and trained by elves, one step below unicorns (which only virgins can ride... or teh suck!). These horses respond well enough to their rider that they CAN sneak, at least in forested areas, keeping largely to the shaded areas and walking in the soft patches of grass.
Of course, on hard surfaces such as rock or cobblestone, their clacking hooves kinda break that.
While it would be sweet (yes, I would LOVE to see a sneaking elephant), I have to agree that it may perhaps be a bit too overpowered. Might be a thought tho as an elf-only horse with a hefty sum of gold attached to it.
It would be nice, like forestwalk, to have elven horses sneak on forest.
After all elves are the forest people.
So 2 ideas brainstormed.
Witch means elves and perhaps rangers.
Withc reminds me, elves are one of the best rangers races, i dont know why people do not use them more...
I think most people agree that paladins don't really need anything extra anyways...
I think most people agree that elves are not one of the best ranger races.
hrmmm, human rangers can be good, neutral, or evil.
elves can be good.
ogres good, neutral or evil.
halflings good and neutral.
since rangers suck, i don't remember... can stone giants be rangers?
what about storm and fire rangers? (muwhahahaha, let the discussion begin!)
Stones can be. Storms/Fires can't.
Yeah..storms/fires can be clerics..but since there is no neutral cleric, stones are allowed to be rangers.
i knew storm/fire couldn't be rangers. wasn't sure about stone, tho.
i just was opening up discussion on storm/fire rangers. as in, would they or wouldn't they be over/under powered. etc.
just starting some room for opinion.
storm rangers would be a joke because of the wood vuln...fires would be ok, but no better than stone, and probably worse
edit: Fire is probably worse due to loss of fire benefits (esp. weapon selection lag/charge, etc) and no real gain..
25 Str, dual wield + ranged weapon ambush?
Ice vuln, no intelligence, loss of some of the staple fire weapons (Fire Lance in particular)... plus, I don't see FIRE creatures and natural creatures being all in communion and working together.
Yeah, but not that different with the same thing except 24 str for the stone ranger.
in terms of a possible larger pk and rp environment i could see nature and fire/destruction types tagging up in defense of holy (both good and evil holy) and order-ish types tagging up
Who cares about the fire lance if your a ranger?
Nevermind, reread your post.
