Well Damnit

As some of you know I'm a former cancer patient. I've been in remission for almost eighteen years now, and it seems sh*t could be taking a turn for the worst. A week ago I found a lump under my right pectoral, just between the fourth and fifth ribs. I gave it a week and it did not go away. I visited the doctor today and it also seems that I've lost 10% of my body weight since january, 8 pounds alone since May. I've another lump on my right clavicle, at this time, if it is cancerous it looks to be bone cancer, though we won't know until after the CT scan tomorrow. I'm not terribly religious, but a few prayers would be nice..

PSA 57:7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

PSA 57:8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

PSA 57:9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

PSA 57:10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.

Best wishes from someone who knows.

i'm not normally the type to pray, but i think this warrants an exception. I really hope things work out for you. My family has a history of cancer, and even though i will never know how you feel from a personal prospective, i've seen loved ones battle through it. I wish you and your family the best.

My mother is fighting late stage leukemia right now man. I wish you nothing but the best, and I definately know how helpless, and ****ting you can feel sometimes. Just keep your chin up, and your spirits high. And if you start getting depressed, smoke a bowl (Not at all a pun, or disrespectful joke)

Dr John Byrd of Columbus Ohio (well known leukemia specialist) told my mother to have someone she knows find marijuana for after chemo, that he cannot prescribe it, but he can suggest that the effects of the drug are extremely helpful for the depression, and after effects of Chemo.

My wife and I will say a prayer right after I post this.

Jesus said that whenever two or more people gather in his name to pray he is there. He'll hear my prayers first hand.

Every single person I know who went to Iraq or Afghanistan came back in one piece, I like to think my prayers helped a lot. And they're marine corps infantry and machine gunners, not navy or air force or any of that stuff.

****. I wish you the best.

A close family friend is going through something similar; he had liver cancer, but had been in remission for a few decades now. Just recently, we found out that it had come back, and had metastized in the bones. He's taking a new cocktail of medication that is supposed to have up to a 40% efficacy rate, which is pretty damn good for bone cancer; if it doesn't work, he'll be going to chemo. I wish the best for you, and will keep both of you in my thoughts.

Okay' date=' good news. The scan showed no signs of cancer, though I do have two lumps and we don't know the reason for my weight loss. I go in tomorrow for further tests.[/quote']

I've got a lump in my forearm and I had one in my abdomen. The abdomen one was removed and it was determined that I might be prone to growing the occasional benign tumor.

Hopefully that's all it is and they get removed. I don't know how benign tumors react over time in someone with a history of cancer.
