f0xx
He is talking about the skill which creates staff on rangers. Not the weapon skill "staff" Well, if you don't mind waiting, wait till you join cabal and after that you can train it up to 95 with CPs. It will be a bit costy though and you will still have to master it yoursefl to 100.

Lexi
From what I remember, ranger staff proficiency makes no difference whatsoever. Could be wrong, though.

Croyvern
Ranger Staff isn't so bad. Its insect swarm that always takes me forever, and its affects do not last long enough when mastered. JMO (tip) I ussually master ranger staff simply by not wielding anything but a ranger staff from pugil to pinnacle. I thought this was where the Reverend was going. mya
Train it at pinnacle. Some things are just not worth spamming as you get them, cause they take so less time at Pinnacle. PS: Hoo, and wield a Practice Weapon ****MUHAHAHAHAAAA****

mya
This reminds me the time that Minotaur bloke IB4M, told on the forums that if you mastered refresh it's effects would double. What a waste of time.

killalou
Ive mastered ranger staff several times. My last project mastered it at 50 and dear Lord did it take FOREVER. Best bet is to start at 50 and steadily increase everytime you log on to regain your sanity. What I did was when I logged on I would increase it 3%. This took about 1-2 hours real time at 50. As for effects of a mastered ranger staff vs. non mastered you will find out it does not matter at all. At 50 the avg. dam of the staff still jumps around a little bit. Trick
Overall, I think its a waste of time. You will never use a ranger staff in any serious fight against a decent player. Its only use is to have SOME sort of weapon if you do end up without one or upon death. I wouldn't bother with it. I have had several rangers and I don't think I have used it as an actual weapon. Now, using it to throw against a storm giant, that's a little more practical. -Trick
Sandbox
just so people stop assuming im an idiot. i was told a mastered ranger staff gives +15/15 hit/dam my plan was to switch to ranger staff before entering wereform to get the extra hit/dam because wereform has its own average damage and doesnt use the weapons. after doing some id's it still only gives +10/+10 and the average damage went up, which does nothing really for what i wanted it for. Zhokril
Training ranger staff gives no advantage beyond the occasional fail when making it.
