Grumpy
Today I am going to the preview screening of Astroboy (my company got some tickets). I used to love this cartoon when I was a kid, remember running home from school just to watch it. I know many of you are roughly my age so there probably are some Astroboy fans here too. The cast has got Nicolas Cage and Freddie Highmore so I have high hopes for it. I'll let you know hows the movie when I get back.
songofsixpence
I have high hopes as well. Though it did not show when I was growing up, I still ended up watching copies of it later. I'll be interested to hear somebody's opinion.
Grumpy
I was slightly worried before watching it that it would turn out like dragonball evolution and TMNT in all its hilarious crapiness. But the Astroboy movie is really good. the animation and sound is top notch, the story engaging and the humor (The robot revolutionary front:D ) nailed pretty well. But I'm just worried how it'll do in the US opening. The story is pretty harsh, the boy first gets vaporized, then rejected by his dad and gets blown off a floating city into a scrap heap. I'm not sure how kids will take that. I hope it does well, because I really like Astroboy.
