Welcome to the life of a warrior. Though its worse since they can hardly get any eq themselves.
Um polearm + warrior + double grip = tank of death?

Warriors have a problem dealing with unblockable damage (spells/mals/bashes), lag, and curing those mals. They also tend to run out of sanc and the problem compounds the farther the mob is.
Warriors are great sometimes and if well-equipped/caballed..but there are certainly better mob-killers.

Druids make great mob killers, in my experience. They're just about as defensive as a warrior, if not more so, and they don't need consumables.
I meant its harder for the invoker because they can't tank mobs. And I think it would be a good idea to replace that polearm with a staff for that tanking warrior.
depends on how you look at it. although the staff is more defensive than the polearm, the polearm beats it on the offense by quite a bit. as many of the higher level mobs use those nasty unblockable attacks celerity mentioned, having greater offense is likely the better choice as the faster you kill, the less damage you take.

You might do more attacks with a staff + pugil, but the chance of hitting them with a staff is much lower as it is with a polearm.

exactly.
Doesn't really matter against a mob. If you have at least basic eq before heading out, the staff will be accurate enough.
Did everyone catch a friggin cold? All this coughing.
A warrior will easily be accurate enough to justify a staff with simple basic equipment against most mobs. And with pugil thrown in, there's really no reason not to wear one.
of the traditional melee classes which i guess are war, ber, mon :
warriors have suffered the single handed largest class dilution of any other up to now. and that is not saying there are not very worthwhile reasons to play a good RP character and a niche player, however the only destined cabal for you would be WARASTER, and bottom line, considering how hard it is to convince people of joining should indicate something.
theres a warrior in Watcher? one in tribunal? been a few in knight? a few in nexus? Warsmaster? By far not the only choice.
you could be warrior anywhere but savant. even herald. actually, a herald warrior could be pretty cool. I'd prolly go for one, but then I'd have to be herald ![]()
A well played warrior can single most of the game. I've seen one go through Desolation alone, taking out some of the less terrible mobs. I've seen another go through gear with just one cleric as company. I've seen many single Steel or Blood. Sanctuary is not really a problem, not that a decked warrior will even need it against mobs most of the time.
I'd agree on staff > pole for mob killing.
I'd say wm is not the easiest cabal choice for a warrior, both Knight and Nexus are nice choices if you are lazy. ![]()
Watcher and Syndicate are also doable, though you'll have to put a bit more work into it.
Tribunal can be very easy if played right. (As we see currently.)
Warriors are very eq dependant but with staff + pugil + fired weapons they have the potential to get their armor (and sanc) completely on their own without too much trouble.
i say ranger covers up most of those areas people are weak in.
Well yeah with a staff+pugil+2-3 pets=major mob a**kicking class
Rangers also have the bonus of being able to make food... important for long solo trips.

Right up until you fight one of the tough mobs that swings...
Or casts plague....

I'm pretty sure a halfling ranger could solo just about anything with some decent eq and a staff+bow.
