i used to make trips to winter solo with a human paladin. would have been easier with an elf, but i don't want to rank for three months straight. just takes time and patience.

Well.. I've seen rangers solo winter. I've seen clerics do it. And warriors. And paladins. Most of the classes with decent defenses and/or cures.
Ranking a elf Pal only takes 50-60 hours. 
ive also seen druids do it, and healers, and bards. Basically ANYTHING can solo winter with a little know how...
Ofcourse, it's just that some have it easier than others.

Can an invoker do it?
I remember Celerity saying she used to teleport to random places with Sachi, and fight her way out of allsorts of dodgy places, so I'm going to say yes.

I don't think that's possible.
Actually, I think it would be easier for an invoker (or possibly battlemage) to solo gear than any other class, given the high speed they can advance at, due to massive area damage. With the right equipment, and the right cabal spells, perhaps it is possible?
Parts of it, possibly. One part of it in specific? I have major doubts, and I don't refer to Adeptus. Let's stop the discussion here though.
I don't think there are many people out there, including class/cabal even with leader can solo gear. Maybe a savant leader cleric and a WM leader warrior can. But that is two people and will never happen.

Any class can solo almost anywhere because any class can use fired weapons to draw mobs out and kill them one at a time.
You are my hero. I totally did not think about using fired weapons just to draw people out even on classes that can't use fired weapons.

oh yeah, and btw, layette solo'd gear, yes. A druid. Solo'd gear. dont ask me how. I dont know.
Actually, I did it to equip after a certain pword from kanal:P..was uncaballed? and took less than 3 hours (1 world shift). I don't think I even had a cursed or charged staff until halfway through.
It can be done by an invoker if you have ~1300 mana and a charg(ing)staff..I also had an esuna staff so I didn't worry about mals (from magic faction).
