Neewie
Very excited to play. Looks like the immortals have done a VERY good job with this game the past few years. Also I noticed the playerbase in general has grown a lot more mature (and strong). I very rarely get full looted, unlike before. Which tells me that youre either very kind people, or I suck so bad that it would feel like stealing candy from babies (which I dont mind myself at all ). Guest emp_newb
Welcome to FL hehe. I am the resident jack-***. Glad to have met you. Few quick warnings. Actually, ignore all his posts As far as character creation goes, if you are a mildly experienced mudder, you will probably want to try some flavor of a cleric. Extremely survivable, able to heal many maledictive spells, able to identify armor/weapons/items, as well as able to do very well in a pk. I would steer clear of giant clerics at the moment, they can have nice nice power, but overall put out a steep learning curve. Classes to avoid at first: Dark-Knights, Monks, Blademasters. All of these classes require above average knowledge of equipment, areas, and pking. I would only recommend these classes after you have tinkered about in the lands a bit. KRins
Welcome. Don't listen to Sandbox...we try to keep him locked in the basement, but he escapes pretty regularly. As far as a first character. You could either go with a human/dwarf cleric or just pick the race/class that interests you the most. Paranoia is your best friend...we might seem all friendly, but the vast majority of us are wolves in sheep's clothing. Then there is me the comatose lemur in plasm beast clothing. mya
Play whatever you want and just have fun. When ever you decide you want to learn about the game in a more competitive fashion roll a Cleric, and start exploring/learning the EQ. Elves/Drows are easy as sunday morning. Dwarves/Duergars are powerhouses. Giants are fun until you run out of mana. I am currently recommending Duergar Cleric worshiper of Discord as a second Character. If you get full-looted often, ask the imms to change you into the Moderate Tier. This way people can only take 2 rares from your corpse and no common eq. PS: It's a game. Have fun. Neewie, now you know why Mya's forum title is Queen of Misinformation.
mya
Of course the IMM will not change it for you or me. But they might for him. A true Newbie. Like they always say with quality RP everything is possible. http://forum.theforsakenlands.org/showthread.php?t=17293 If the loots are getting too much for you' date=' you can always ask us to change your char to moderate , then you will keep all non rares and only loose up to two rares a kill.[/quote']
