Pali
Im agnostic' date=' but in FL I can often see the god I worship and interact them, so my faith seems believable [/quote'] I look at it more as in FL belief actually GETS you somewhere and makes sense. As opposed to real life.
Warpnow
I am an atheist. If at lvl 15 RL I got to see a god come down and (if its krounoi eat a random animal) and approve my look, I wouldn't be.
Designated_Driver
Except for the fact that you've got a spelling error in paragraph three, and your hair color/texture doesn't match what's in your bio.
Warpnow
My bio crap never ever matches my desc...heh...anyone else have this problem? I mean...I am not gonna turn down the perk...but all the other crap I pick I don't usually decide til later...
Chayesh
That's actually something I look at when approving descriptions.
Dale
I have only gotten approved once when it didn't match(thanks Eshaine) but it was a really good desc. And I thought I remember the avatar help file saying you can't be caballed when you get avatar. Also, I remember Irumeru telling me that I could be in a cabal when the help file still said that. Unless I am totally wrong and then I would have to blame drugs, like pali. But I know it said that... It doesn't really matter, my apps suck so I will prolly never have another q/raced char again. Deykari
I think the reasoning behind it is that Avatar you don't remort for, Crusader you do. So if you're in knight, and then you became sadered, you'd be a rank 1 knight. Or something. Avatar, no remort for that. Dey
Yuri
Sometimes you cant make it match. I know. I've tried. I mean you could just go exotic but i did that once and wound up with someone whos bio said they were bald, even though their description said they had extremely long beautiful hair haha. that was such a rip i was furious. Behrens
See, that's odd, because I'm very religious in real life, and my characters are uniformly very (sometime psychotically) devout. I wonder if devout characters are just more fun to play.
Warpnow
Well, its -very- hard to rp an atheist once chayesh shows up at central square... Or malchaeius conquers a city. Heh. I have always said it, the single most important thing to a mud is imm/player interaction, its what alot of mudders live for, and when their best rp shines through. With a devout char, people feel they are more likely to get that interaction. Hell, I would play a piece of **** mud if I got really good staff interaction. On the other hand, I don't play muds like Realms of Despair, which is coded so amzingly well, because there is virtually no staff interaction. With me, though, its also the fact that I -want- to be devout, but just can't. I always liked the idea of religion and all that, but you really can't control what, when it comes down to it, you believe. I love the idea of all these great things religion has to offer, but its just not something I believe in. It definitely makes life harder sometimes without religion, which is why I seldom make any attempt to argue hardcore against religion, unless I feel insulted. -red-
I, too, go through various stages of religious inclination with my chracters. These days, their all agnostic. Besides athiesm, agnosticism and the One God, all the religions seem too static to me (though, honestly, I haven't sat to pick out an RP angle for them). Do I suffer from not having a patron imm come down to pat my ***? Yeah, but I've had plenty of imm interaction without religion. I find it a lot more unique and challenging these days to play a character with a religion like One God or agnosticism, which can be tweaked to be religions of your own making, or a struggle for your character because they see all these super powerful beings taking over cities and shouting world wide stonebubbles echoes. Out here in the real world, when I choose to rejoin the land of the living, I'm not a religious person, but a person of faith. Maybe that has something to do with my relative contempt for FL's religions
Pali
Actually, RPing someone who doesn't feel that the gods are truly gods, just mortals who at some point reached a new level of power, can be quite fun.
Mudder
I think I like to switch around for fun RP angles that I think of. Lirard was atheist/agnostic (not sure which) but thats because he was a WM, and I made him follow the old WM ideals. Of purity of body and crap. Though the psycho devout chars are fun too. Mostly because when I create them, its somewhat a mockery of RL religious people. (I'm talking the super weird religious ones) But yeah, i'm an atheist IRL.
