tribunal

hello.

im thinking of trying to start a tribunal. It will most likely be a warrior to get some feel for it.

I hope maybe you could help me with some ideas to how the character mindset and religion should be. Something unusual would be funny. (Im thinking of ogre, but if another race is required for your idea ill be more than willing to go).

So, what tribunal warrior religion/personality should I make?

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo *universe reset*

Tribunal really needs a kind of character who is very steady and fair, but not strict. They should really play the diplomatic game instead of all the heavy-handed dictator "I AM THE LAW AND YOU WILL OBEY" types we so commonly see (see killed that is).

Preferably some kind of neutral, and I think at this time, an adaptable class is needed.

If someone could play a bmg well, they could be very effective. If you want to play a good, a paladin would be nice also. Straight melees in Tribunal will have a very difficult time unless you have a lot of experience under your belt (coming from a player who has played many melees in Tribunal/Justice :D). Race isn't as important for mages as it is for melees/rogues, so you can have fun with what interests you. Although for greater replayablity, I recommend something that can remort (crusader/lich/psi).

Just no more rangers/thieves please! Very hard for me to imagine/accept them as the Tribunal types. A ninja could be interesting though...

Yeah, a ninja would be good, do that. ;) I hate tribunals with a passion. Generally because of the sort of stance Celerity just mentioned. Secondly because they seem to be the most likely to gangbang my arse.

Looks like at this stage though Tribunals have pretty much been driven from existence.

valek if you could come up with ideas for any of the races or aligns I would be very glad :) im so poor at making a persona for my character so some inspiration would be nice.

Try the Dwarf Warrior who's Lawful Good. You'd be like the gruff old grandpa of Val Miran. You don't show your love much, but it's seen in your actions and you just have a cussin' streak that's a mile wide and quite colorful, like, "Blasted drow! They need more sun and they should take their pointed ears and shove 'em up their arses if they think they're going to cause trouble in my towns!"

The Storm Warrior is just....bland. I don't like storm giants.

The Halfling Warrior that's Lawful Good or Lawful Neutral. The Towns have always take care of you and treated you well, despite your small stature. Now you want to return the favor and show them that you've "grown", all the pun intended. I'd demand you do the quite adorable bent. ;) Also, don't forget that a halfling warrior is usually more adept at tripping than bashing and you also might want to study your warrior lores closely to help you in the lag game.

Pretty sure they can hide, But they cannot flag people while hidden.

Re: Cephirus, Assassinate to stun and capture, similar to a syndicate, Assassinate to stun and collect. However you cannot assassinate someone in a challenge they just die.

Tribunal assassinate instantly kills the target. You can slit someone's throat (or equivalent) and then chop their head off. You can't slit someone's throat and then cart them off to prison all dandy...

Not to siderail this thread too much, but in medievil times, I am sure plenty of people were "knocked out" when taken to prison, but were actually dead. Besides, I don't think assassinate is necessarily supposed to be just a simple slit of their throat, I always thought of it as a skill whereby you could rp how you assassinate them, like a knife through the heart, a strong blow to the kidneys, etc.

Maybe, but that doesn't change the fact that they are dead.

Which is exactly what I had in mind when I wrote "(or equivalent)".

So, we can chop at them with magical weapons, explode them with hellstreams, disease them, critical strike their hearts and brains and then lug them to jail, but an assassinating strike is out of the question? I thought we could just resurrect them anyways if they accidently died on the way. :P

I think we threw realism out the window a long, long time ago. If we really wanted to make sure that Tribunals must capture their targets, let's only allow them to use non-lethal batons, bolos, and stun gas.

If you assassinate a bounty and aren't able to collect it, they still live!

I don't think anyone here said you can't assassinate a wanted/outlaw as a Tribune. I wouldn't exactly approve of a Tribune assassinating/studying a wanted in the CITY because they'd be breaking their own laws (depending on the law that the Tribune broke) but outside of the city? Why the hell not?
