MadCowDisease
? What has that got to do with anything? For both those classes I would stick them in the top 3 AT LEAST if not the best. its been said before that their limitations are a balancing factor, as well as their xp pen. also. illithids are arguably the best necros too. comes with the turf of being an expensive race to play

So you have to kill 10 more kelp farmers? Big deal. Shrug Mino charge doesnt worry me. But the fact it lags when he charges with a staff is a little interesting. MadCowDisease
why wouldnt it? the charge for minotaurs uses their horns. i dont see why it matters if he has a staff or not.
Guest emp_newb
Re:Raargant. When prepping to fight this specific minotaur I have over 350 ac in all categories, a 63 hitroll, and a great weapon selection (mundane sword, spear, magic spear, magic polearm) Blms are designed to make use of their crit strikes, if one crit strike costs me six rounds of lag (opener charge, my two rounds from strike, and another charge) it is really not worth it. As for race I will leave that out for now, but suffice to say it is a strong race. My comment was never that mino charge is OP. What I am saying is that if you counter a skill, as in deal damage back for them trying to use it, and the skill does not go through, why the hell does the lag still go through. No other skill in the game is like this, maybe pally charge but I have not had a pally charge me yet. And even it if was a pally that can do it, they have a 2 tic timer before they can charge for lag again. I would just like to know one real reason other than that is the way it works for this being that way. RE: MCD That is the thing MCD, when a mino warrior charges with a non charging weapon, they attack with their horns, the fact I am countering it shows that the horns ARE being countered, coupled with the fact I take no damage. Lol think beyond the charge. A warrior with a staff = defensive nightmare. Someone who can charge lag and be defensive could have a nice advantage. I'd have to test it myself to know for sure. Celerity
I also agree that is very silly for a countered charge to lag the target. I still prefer fire giants to minos though! Fires will eat minos for breakfast with green eggs.
Guest emp_newb
Here is another point MCD. All the other big racial exp penalty races have a large vuln that at least part of the pbase can hit. Minotaurs have no vuln.
Imoutgoodbye
I also agree that is very silly for a countered charge to lag the target. Not really. There's just so much animalistic frenzy...the pain behind those poor minotaur's eyes...it's like getting charged by The Waterboy. You can counter, but you're still gonna feel it in the mornin', baby. Mino's are large size? I thought they were medium. I've never played one. The RP just doesn't appeal to me. Neutral sliths have no vuln and a tail. Their xp penalty was bumped to 500. Their "special" skills seperated into three. They still have no vuln. And when a great slith comes along, there will be much ado again.

I promise they have a vuln. Just not a damage noun vuln.
Malchaeius
1. You are forgetting that Exp penalty means that their PK range allows for higher levels to kill them before even getting to level 50. 2. There are several ways to prevent flee/charge including: a. critical strike b. reciting a scroll that blinds c. fighting them somewhere where fleeing is not a viable option - including: i. At the kaddar faeries or anywhere that they could flee into an aggresive mobile. ii. Behind a closed door - preferably locked and nopass 3. You are taking lag, and they are taking the same lag. They are taking considerable damage to your counter. You are not taking any equivalent damage. If you are not losing the fight, then charge becomes a moot point. 4. Initiate the attack and you will not have to worry about being charged. Spam murder. 5. If you are losing the fight, run faster and/or quaff a potion of recall or a pill of teleportation. Andre
As much as I hate Mino's charges, I agree witch Malch here, it's not hard to counter. It's just really annoying when it does happen. Open with a spell or something. Don't let him get first hit in, dirt him.
