spiegel06
I just got the Forgotten Realms: War of the Spider Queen series and saw another interesting series, also in the Forgotten Realms: Legend of Drizzet. I read the first book of war of the spider queen and thought it was pretty good, and so wanted to know if anyone has read any of these two series and what they thought of it. MadCowDisease
they're fantastic. another series you might like, if you haven't read, is Dragonlance. Just make sure you start with Dragons of the Autumn Twilight, as there are SEVERAL books in the Dragonlance world.
Ali_gmud
I just got the Forgotten Realms: War of the Spider Queen series and saw another interesting series, also in the Forgotten Realms: Legend of Drizzet. I read the first book of war of the spider queen and thought it was pretty good, and so wanted to know if anyone has read any of these two series and what they thought of it. I was at the library the other day, and I remember seeing that name Drizzet. Isn't it about that lone drow warrior-type character? At the time I was looking for something to read, but out of like 3-4 books of that series/triogly, the library only had the the 2nd book, and I wasn't keen to jump in halfway through and miss the complete introduction. So, it is good though?
spiegel06
dont know have not read the legend of Drizzet, but it is like 10 books. I saw it and it seems like it is interesting.
Imoutgoodbye
Drizzt! DRIZZT! Drizzt Do'urden, son of WeaponsMaster Zaknafein and Matron Do'urden of the Ninth House of Menzo..whatsoever. *hangs his head* I'm so tired of that drow and his imaginary large cod-piece. I wish he'd die. War of the Spider Queen, if you've read ANY of the Drizzt books, is predictable. Fun, but predictable. I hope you enjoy it all as much as I did when I found them. MadCowDisease
drizzt gets a bit too epic at times, especially at the end.
Twinblades713
Absolutely my number one favorite reads. I love Drizzt, as well as the whole War of the Spider Queen. I am a fanatic.
Aulian
I like Feist myself. Reckon his books are awesome and have been the inspiration for a few of my characters. Anyone else thinking: WHERE THE HELL IS THE REST OF RAARGANT'S CHAPTERS FOR THAT FLAMING BOOK!
Nightmare_from_hell
Yes! I am wondering the same thing!!!! As far as Drizzt is concerned, I own "The Dark Elf Trilogy" which chronicles Drizzt's upbringing in Menzoberannzen(sp?) And meeting the barbarian Wulfgar and his mighty Aegis-Fang warhammer forged by his adoptive Dwarven father Bruenor. I also own "Paths of Darkness" which chronicles Drizzts' battles with the infamous Artemis Entreri and the destruction of the artifact Crenshinibon. It also covers Wulfgar's fall from grace after the Demon Errtu tortured him and his saving grace in the visage of a halfling's child whom Wulfgar and his lady adopt as their own. Both of these books actually contain 3 and 4 books in one and over 1000 pages as well. "The Dark Elf Trilogy" gave me my inspiration to play Miza NaShezern, a Drow Cleric Syndi. All in all, extremely excellent reads.

Twinblades713
so how many series are there of Drizzet? I only saw Legend of Drizzet a bit confuzzled... Icewind Dale Trilogy, Dark Elf Trilogy, The Legacy Quartet, Spine of the World Trilogy, then there's also the War of the Spider Queen which takes place in the same setting but a slightly different time I believe. Also the Sellswords Trilogy, with Artemis Entreri (Drizzt's nemesis as you know) and Jarlaxle of Bregyn D'aerthe in Menzoberranzan.
H&R
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R._A._Salvatore#Forgotten_Realms I haven't read them all, but I'm pretty sure that Drizzt appears in every serie of Forgotten Realms.
Twinblades713
lol, close. But nah. He's not in War of the Spider Queen or Cleric Quintet (I believe). Forgotten Realms is just a setting where all these characters take place and can technically coexist. Drizzt is not central to the genre of fantasy though. Imoutgoodbye
Forgotten Realms books have been published by TSR since back into the 70's I believe? Really kicked up in the 80's with the Harpers and what not. Forgotten Realms is an excellent campaign setting, my preference. There are some books that chronicle the exploits of Artemis and Jarlaxle. Jarlaxle being my second favorite drow, next to Gromph Baenre. And to whomever put the Icewind Dale Trilogy BEFORE the Dark Elf Trilogy, thank you for getting it right. Celerity
I read the Feist books back in junior high school, and they were good. I remember wondering why someone named "Gorath" was allowed in this game. I still prefer Robin Hobb though!!

Cephirus
The story of Drizzt starts with the dark elf trilogy, then moves on from there. I personally have only read the dark elf trilogy and look forward to the rest, his exploits may be epic, but who wants to read about non-epic people, I mean really, lol! Dizz
I just finished reading the Orc King I. It's another Drizzt series after Wulfgar adopts the kid. I can't wait to read OK 2. I've read most of the other Drizzt books and they are a very good read.

Twinblades713
I found the cleric quintet to be pretty slow for that purpose. He eventually gets ownage, but it takes him a long time. It is a more realistic progression I think, at least among fantasy realms. Loved the series btw. Dude starts out with a spindle thing, lol. *Thwap* Ow...
