Guest emp_newb
Well I ran a PC store for about 6 months, monetarily I was absolutely fantastic. Made more than enough money to cover liabilities, overhead, and make profit and salaries. The problem was I was never passionate about it. I have always been one of those guys that sells stuff. Anything really. I started at hollywood video YEARS ago, and in 2 months was assistant manager/training director based on my upsale numbers. I was offered a job selling new BMW's. I am taking it. I am selling my assets to my father in law for the PC business, and he will be taking it over. Sungeek computers was a great venture, and I did very well. But at the end of the day I NEED to be in a place where my earning is controlled strictly by my passion, not by others need to get a god damn virus off. Anyone who has talked to me on aim about character combos knows I could make a gnome warrior sound like the pwn, so guys wish me luck, lets hope I land the BMW job. Some info on pay. 401k, health, dental, life insurance for 140 a month (full unquestioned immediate coverage) $15.00 an hour, and 30% commission (on ****ing BMW's) and since the sale is not by here pay here, my check is cut next day on my commission. Wish me luck lol. I know I can sell **** if people go somewhere to buy it, I just need to nail the interview.

Guest emp_newb
Running a PC store is alot of bull. Half the time people have no idea what you are talking about, the other half people THINK they know, and think you are trying to screw them. I ended up getting to the point where I charged a flat rat on viruses, no questions asked. A flat rat on hardware replacement, and a flat hourly fee. I will warn you against opening a pc store out of pocket, it completely ****ed my 7 year savings, and where I am making money, I had to put ALOT into it to see returns. PC stores are a customer service nightmare.
f0xx
In my country some places you get charged 25 euros for installing windows (which is a pirate copy too!), while 25 euros is more than 10% of your monthly salary
Guest emp_newb
It cost me 2700 dollars to get a sign above my store. Between permits, and labor.

Guest emp_newb
Well I am not a BMW salesman.. Yet. I have to do 3 months at their acura lot first (all the samebells and whistles pay wise) after that 3 months if I am still an employee (3 cars a month is the quota) I go to the BMW lot, where apparently the cars sell themselves. HouselessRogue
I have worked in sales jobs a lot during my life. I have never everevereverevereverever heard of a 30% commission. Are you working for the mob?
Raargant
I would certainly assume the 30% commission is not on the total cost of the car, but the net profit they make per car.
HouselessRogue
Agreed but that is still very high. Most places offer 6-8%.
Raargant
Agreed as well. Maybe they're really desperate to move inventory these days, heh.
