Fiere
Would it be feasible to train riposte while having parry and dodge mastered, if you wield a whip? In others words, is riposting easier than parrying with a whip?
Psycho Child
If you havn't practiced whip. And preferably havn't practiced dodge. Its going to take a while.

Psycho Child
Put in LOTR extended edition of all three movies. Thats what I'm doing for training my character, already on the last disc. Looks like its firefly complete series next.
FatMike
I've found riposte will master itself during ranking or any last minute training you need to do before ranking to 50. Seems like staff and whip are the best two weapons to riposte with also.
Fiere
Yeah, I think I'd rather have a difficult time mastering riposte later then rank all the way to 37 with two defenses.
Psycho Child
I've seen it done.
Sneak
Life is too short for training riposte.
Fiere
Amen to that, Sneak. Also, on the upside, I'm testing out the whip theory now, and it seems to work pretty good. I've got dodge close to mastered, dual wielding a whip and a dagger, and I dual parry a pretty decent amount. I'm hoping it will be the same with riposte. If not, well, I'll just get it to 75 I suppose. Now I just gotta see if lowring my dex will noticeably lower the amount I dodge while training. mya
Reminds me of the time i tried to master secoudn parry without dodge and first parry on a monk. I didnt know that it only worked on defensive and after a hour i decided to not bother...
The Greased Weasel
Every warrior ive made, (and ive made alot) I master all my defenses once I get dual parry, then when I get riposte I master it doesnt take all that long, I dont know why people moan about the time
crackwilly21
I use TWO whips. Works fine for me. Even with dodge mastered. Just lower your dex and you'll be banging it out in no time.
Mister E
Meh, practice shield block and two handed, you can get to 37 like that easily. Then do riposte, then dual parry, then parry, then dodge. This is the main reason I wont ever play a feral warrior, the automasteries would make training riposte a pain in the butt. Sinavestos
I trained parry, shield block, dodge, dual parry ... each at the level I got them at ... when I got riposte, I used a sword, which was at 100%, and fought a bunch of scarecrows/crows ... took about 1 hour real time, with parry and dodge going on all the while. Fight enough mobs, with a practice weapon, it goes up fast enough. Actually, I think it took longer to master dual parry than it did riposte. Dunno what the big deal is here, it ain't that hard.
