Imoutgoodbye
I want you guys to go ahead and use me as an example. Why if you don't stick it out, you don't get better. Why if you don't think about your race/class versus their race/class...everything from weapon selection to where you're fighting that you don't get better. Anything! Whatever pops into your head. Just utterly and completely dissect every wrong thing I do. Show him what 8 years of stubbornness achieves. I honestly don't want to see someone go storm off onto AIM and get caught up in one of those damned circles again! I hate AIM circles! You're looking for salvation there, and, dude, you're only going to find damnation. So, do it guys. Rip me up for the newb. I'm serious. Don't pull punches. I know what I do wrong, I know why I do wrong....just don't let another one go down the wrong road. EDIT: I've never used AIM to get FL secrets, either. EDIT2: C'mon! Don't turn into a bunch of pansy elves on me! If L-A was here, he'd do it! Let's have an IMM get this ball rollin'! It's a reverse exorcism, folks! mya
Let me open. You are insecure. You see that Vampire/DK/Necro on your where and you think, he is just passing by. You don't put up sanctuary and immediately rush him. You always have an excuse, "Flight is so expensive, i am not quaffing it up just because he is in the area." Then you die trip locked. For all the years you have played here Valek, i bet you still do not have a paper table on your desk describing the weapon types that classes do not know. Then you lose time thinking of what weapon to dual vs a Ranger. I bet your insecurity made you wait until he open combat with murder plus 3 pets. Don't you know you can summon pets or owner ? Twinblades713
I've fought you Valek several times recently. You receive threats and when your enemy is in the area you don't put up sanc, you don't hide, and you don't prepare to pk. You assume he's just poking around for fun. You do VERY well at trashtalking, and I know it's the RP and not ooc, however you do very little to back it up. You don't carry recall potions or teleport pills, and if I'm wrong and you do, you don't use them or choose to try to use them at a horrible time. Balls to the wall is only effective if it's a close match. If you are dying horribly, going out on a limb against a guy who has a few scratches gets you nowhere. You're not paranoid enough. You give up too easily. You see faults in a gameplan of yours and instead of improving the gameplan you decide to delete the whole goddamn character, and try another one. Love you, Rev. Implementor Anume Posted August 24, 2009 Implementor Report Share Posted August 24, 2009 You give up too easily. You see faults in a gameplan of yours and instead of improving the gameplan you decide to delete the whole goddamn character, and try another one. Mainly this. You do not stick long enough around at 50 with ONE char to improve. General advise to get better at pk: The first thing you do when logging on is (if you can, put up all detects your class has) see who is around and is a POSSIBLE enemy. Then you think on what strategy / weapons / consumables you will need for every single one of them. If you do not have something you would need, go get it. If you are not reequipping you SHOULD have anything you need against every one of these possible opponents. Where is your friend. Use it a lot. Know who is poking into the area you are in (they might be preparing for battle just outside of it now), now who is coming near you.

f0xx
Heh, some time ago my lvl 40 ninja gets asked if it needs a titanium fullplate or something like that by a mino zerker. Ofc I need it, so we agree to meet in a place. Before entering the area in questions, I put up all the buffs I can possibly think of/find + aura then enter. As soon as he sees me, he starts charging. I woop his *** real hard, chase, kill and fool loot. I laughed so hard that day. Thats what paranoia gets you. Yes, you waste a lof of consumables, but hell, you either waste them this way or your enemy gets your backpacks from your corpse. You always have an excuse, "Flight is so expensive, i am not quaffing it up just because he is in the area." Then you die trip locked. Mya knows best, she might sound funny on the forums 99% of the time, but she is a damn good PKer ingame, especially having in mind she plays mostly clerics (good ones too!) Kyzarius
Preperation is one of the biggest differences between a winner and a loser in pk.
alldaymuddin
I agree.. Confidence aswell, if you go into battle scared, you will make mistakes, you have to have the mind frame of a winner. I noticed that when I fight those that seem all experienced and scary I do better when I do not try to run away. Standing your ground prepared is surprisingly better then running in most situations and also, do not wait until you are extremly weak to flee, I have made that mistake quite a few times.. mya
Duck this one Valek. Stop living in the Past. FL is a living mud. IT changes, evolves. What worked in the past may not work in the future. You need to evolve, and update your knoledge/skills/tatics. Example: Necros: Summon to locked door room. LOST Use three Travens. LOST PowerWord Kill. MODIFIED Cone. MODIFIED Zombies size. MODIFIED MODIFIED
mya
2 Combo!! Stop rage deleting your Pinacles. Use a delpass or learn some self control. This way you would not need to probably die horribly to some mob pre-50! while exploring. You die, and get full looted, move to corpse and loot all. Is it Desolation/Gear ? Quit and come back in 16 min at pit. Exit game, don't close Zmud. Get up, drink up a glass of water. Watch some TV. Calm Down. Get back to computer and watch Log. See your mistakes. Copy paste fight to notepad. Post in foruns. Then don't play for the remaining of the day. Give it some time.

Dale
Sometimes you just need triick yourself that you are going to lose every fight. With Gruudik I thought I was going to get stomped against almost everyone. I dunno, this helps me prepare in every logical manner, drugs aren't a must but it can't hurt when your melee has half the protections of a cleric. If your evil or good allign protection is very nice. I rarely, rarely use teleport pills but this will save your gear more often than not.
Imoutgoodbye
Neewie... You starting to get the picture at what my unwillingness to change has done to me? I'm literally just a forum personality that contributes to RP in the mud. I have no existence at 50. I'm everyone's constant ranking partner. I wear the equipment no one wants. I have no equipment ID list. My PK peaked my third year here with a drow ninja where I went something like 17-1 pre-50 (I used to have issues with qrace/class wannabees... ) When I say stop being stubborn, it's this. If you can't change the view to acclimate YOURSELF, you won't do so well. The game is what it is. Don't hate it. Embrace it and learn. I'm working on this. I've only been seriously trying to make an attempt the last few months. So, when I tell people to not let the door hit them in the rear on the way out, it's not such a bad thing, really. Some days I wish I would have walked. But I was hooked soooo badly by my lack of satisfying D&D groups....I crave my escape to to this place. It's a sick love/hate relationship and I've just chosen to ignore the hate portion.
