Problems you might consider

I already let out a vent, and it was sincere and legitimate. However it had very little direction as it was created to convey a message that has obviously not been understood or reacted to- and instead derailed into a pointless class power argument thread. It falls under the same guidelines. Those who aren't perpetrating the bull**** have nothing to worry about except getting treated like ****. Anyway, here it is:

1. Use your minds. Consider what you're doing, and actually try to give a damn.

2. If you don't give a damn, I'm asking you as a favor to the rest of the pbase to leave. I have no reason to believe this will get through to anyone, but it's a reasonable request.

3. FL is not dying and doesn't have to. But it will and soon unless it's comprised of solely players that like being treated like crap- in most ways cheated out of this experience by being ganged, receiving little to no roleplay in a supposedly RP enforced mud, and having little to no guidelines, direction or discipline.

(This is not a doomsday post. This is not damning this Mud. The players that choose to destroy the integrity are doing so.)

4. The content from 3 is evident with many public absences. I will not rehash the specific memories, but players like Despiser, Festy, Klemkin for a time, and several other quieter people I will not mention out of respect, did not leave for no reason. They left because there was nothing here for them. They explained to you why, and things are rarely heeded by a select several. There is quickly diminishing any reason for me to be here. I will explain later.

5. Imm Activity is good, and plentiful now in recent times which is a good new thing. But when plain rules and common sense to what makes a good scenario are nowhere near enforced, it gives no incentive to play decently for those who prefer to deviate from respectful play.

6. The problem has always been about change. We've changed many things to put FL in the right direction and they have elated me. I want to give special props in this regard to Haesierph and still Anume, as always for offering TOP NOTCH RP in any situation. I've tested this new fellow with several different characters and he is a damn good egg. I hope he stays around for the benefit of all of you. There have been changes and new areas implemented. I am ecstatic that the progress is moving forward again after a few decent sized coding breaks, especially with Zhokril on the team and offering his value, which is great. The change I'm talking about is within the pbase. It takes very few people to ruin a good game. Mine's been all but ruined, and because I am so deeply mesmerized by its intrigue it has taken me quite awhile to bring this up.

7. The players don't need FL, FL needs the players. When you treat newbies like garbage, which I have seen on multiple occasions... it makes them log off. It makes them wonder what other muds have to offer, it makes them figure "Meh, Halo 3 over this **** any day." It feels like we're growing this huge, budding tree and have several players down at the bottom just hacking at it with ganging, ridiculous tattling, counterstrike/no RP, and manipulation to achieve every advantage over everything and everyone.

8. As for me as if anyone were interested, I've grown disconnected, and I've lost my sense of care for any PK that happens IG. I will likely be penalized to a harsh degree but I've found that does not bother me. I enjoy, I LOVE to RP. I have found it rather difficult to even do that under my circumstances. I try to make that my priority and that part of the game is taken from me. I have considered if RP muds are for me, but I will miss dearly the rush of pk, and once in awhile I may fight one that doesn't curl my stomach, even when I lose. I am drifting without my consent because the fun is leaving this place. The magic of this world is leaving because of the choices of others, which I rely on, as we all do. I will not abandon my character(s) but it is still not the same. I will not likely move to another mud as spite or vindication, but there will be a loss for me in this game.

9. Others have left quietly. I decided against such an option after a week or more break. I feel since this game is so special and has such potential I owed it to the people who deserve to enjoy this game that I at least make mention of what can improve.

10. I do not go running to immortals for each specific circumstance. These problems are not a case by case basis. There are obvious patterns. Sending your blood guard after someone who is defending their altar is not necessarily against rules. Should you do it, not always. It's ****. Should you syndi skill someone at their altar? It's the same thing.

I guess 10 is a nice round number. Point is, all I can do is hope. People don't change, but maybe if we believe hard enough, miracles can happen. ;)

I've seen people gripe against these same things and then do them in game. I am not implying anything but everyone is a nice guy on the forums and when they log in with their decked character they are a completely different person.

I can point out at least a handful of people but I don't wanna throw mud at anyone publicly. Which doesn't mean that I am perfect, I have my bad days and that often reflects on my IC behaviour.

FL is a very demanding game especially when it comes to RP. Sometimes you get home tired, angry and annoyed. You log in with the intention to relax and then you *have* to RP and RP is not always an easy thing to do. It feels like a second job sometimes, especially when others aren't being cooperative.

This is why Imms should be cut an almost eternal amount of slack. Since it is quite literally, a second job.

This the only point i really don't agree with, should you syndi skill someone at their alter? I've never played a syndicate, but my motiviation would be that of a down to business contract killer since thats what they do within the game mechanics, If they had a contract i wished to collect **** yea i'd syndi skill them at their alters. That would be part of my RP.

Now trib/justice is somethin i have alot of experience with i've had several, and **** yea i sent my blood guard after them at their alter, if they've broken the law and its my duty to bring them in, then you bet your *** i would send it after them, being by your alter doesn't mean oh oh i'm safe. You don't want a blood guard sent after you messin up your cabal warfare with nexus/WM/Savant(insert cabal) then DON"T GET WANTED its your concequence for breaking the law and it IS avoidable.

Thats like sayin ninjas shouldn't be able to assassinate from the shadows, its what they do! both those instances you brought up would be well within a fairly basic RP for their respective cabal's.

Most of the people that play here are intelligent. Most of the people that play here want to keep the game fun. Most are not complete asshats.

But the handful that do not meet the above criteria are doing the same stupid **** over several characters. I believe that is the point that is trying to be made here. I have been an opposing char and I have been in the same cabal with these people. Either way, it gets old. I don't play this game to make others miserable and especially not to make people get so sick of this place that they quit. It needs to stop. We are loosing players quickly. I log on to find 2-3 people on all the time. It is disheartening. People get tired of the antics. Read through previous posts. What is the common theme? Do you not like this game enough to stop your foolish actions?

I have three new players that will be starting here within the next month. Will they last? I sure hope so... Please try to give them a warm welcome when they start popping in.

My problematic time here came an end for three reasons. Miscommunication problem sometimes(staff v player, player v staff, staff v staff, and player v player), mean people sometimes(not aggressive, not elitist, but just... same people repetitively mean), and my very thin skin in terms of getting frustrated too easily.

You have accuracy on your points, I think. It is a fun game, but it is very hard to make reconcile between time spent playing and time spent enjoying the game.

I prefer games where they always have fun, not just sometimes. I am soft. ;)

A lot of people here let things said on the forum get to them and end up letting that decide when they leave. I think it all or most of it to be in our heads. If I feel that I have been trashed I tell the imms and let it be. I can't remember the last time I honestly thought leaving this game entirely because another player decided best to take potshots at me on the forum. I honestly think its the fault of the player who left because of forum said things, moreso than the as who started it. Of course I am not talking about behavior in game here. Strictly forum.
