Young thieves

How does it fall using thieves/ninjas at like rank 15 to find pinns/near pinns to kill them?

Does it count as pk interference? It should. Its an abuse of the pk range system.

I'm sure you've done it in the past with your thieves. It's not PK interferance. It's the way thieves are. Are the thieves making it so one or the other loses/wins? No. They're just taking the equipment from the loser.

Find a more secluded spot to fight. Don't fight in the city.

Yeah baby, that's how we roll in the Family.

I think he means asking thieves and ninjas for the location and or presence of higher ranked thieves and ninjas.

Hrm. Not quite PK interferance, but if a cabal/avatar/any other qclass/qrace is doing that, they'll get severely punished. Such as Elloran. He lost all his avatar skills when he had a lowbie tell him where someone was. I dunno. The Imms have this one.

For the record, Elloran didn't even ask for it. The lowbie just told him.

I WAS referring to telling where they are.

and it should be more than frowned on for qraces...its clearly abuse of the pk range system...

I would say its abuse. I've done it before, and just felt cheap afterward, so I no longer do such things.

Maybe make it so that...oh, I don't know, its like skill based? For example...if you have decent % in it, you can see hidden people around your level and lower with ease, but seeing a thief 10+ lvls above you would be nearly impossible.

I don't really think that's going to be happening anytime soon...

I've answered this question IG many times, even to Martinieus... If someone wants to ask the question, they can ask it I would think... I've had it happen against me many times while I played my thieves, and have seen other people do it too. I don't think it's bad from an RP point...

You see this shadowy char lurking on the street.

You ask shadowy char, "Seen BOB around here?"

Shadowy char says, "Sure, he just went down to ma's and pop's to steal some coin."

You say, "Thanks," before running after BOB to kill him for stealing from you before.

Now from a game-related issue, I could see arguements saying why it would be a bad thing, but it can't really be THAT bad... my 2 cents...

How is this abusive would be my question?

Are you guys going soft on us or something?

Take their name, pay them back later, if you live that long. Thinking your hiding spot is perfect and no one's seeing you there is good way for that NOT to happen.

I've had plenty of people ask me for it, but generally the only time I've done it was to either know if they're still in the realms and I can stop wasting my time, or if they attacked me while I was in a group with someone who can see them.

If I was a good aligned thief and anothe goodie was being attacked by an evil thief or ninja I would gladly help them with any information I could. Snitches exist in the world. By the same token if I was neutral or evil, depending on what was best for me I may outright lie to the person asking me for information, even tell the thief or ninja in question what was going on and see if they wanted me to send this person to them for an awaiting trap. As long as its all done IC then I see nothing wrong with it. If you ask a buddy on aim or msn to log their thief because you are getting bugged by one then it becomes abuse.

Well Chayesh, I don't know if I agree with this. Too much OOC crap that goes on. I always though that detect hidden and keen sight, and hell, even invisibility should only detect people that are in your group range.

Again, something like this has no direct bearing on the PK fight though.

So they found you...kill them.

If you can't kill them, get a better hiding spot.

This is not the same at all in my mind as someone out of range healing your opponent or saccing/stealing disarmed weapons and shields. That's bull and will get your bottom swiftly kicked.

But telling someone where you are? I still fail to see where this is a problem or even cheap for that matter.

For a class that's main weapon is stealth?

Pffft.

Big C, I'm sorry, but I disagree with you. If you are a Warrior with shiny happy potions that is getting a constant GPS signal from a lowbie rogue as to the whereabouts of your rogue nemesis, no matter how much lust for the kill they have, a good flush/bash is their end.

"Kill them to show everyone how large (length and girth) your massive weapon is" is kind of passe. And more to the point, it is not always possible.

Taking on a 911 (Nine Eleven, Sports Car) with a freaking VeeDub...is not going to work. so...

I tell people all the time where other people..lol

My main reason, if they are hunting them, they are not hunting me.

Just because soeone says where you are it doesnt mean they are guaranteed to flush you out. You see them walking towards you, you go somewhere else. A thief or ninja on the move will be very hard to bring out. And once you notice the same other thief or ninja in your area and the enemy always approaching you, you kinda catch on.

And even for area things, how hard is it to go hide by a pit healer or something? Save faerie fog, of course.

Pit healer won't save your *** anymore Fiere. Shopkeeper on the other hand.

And if you have someone with Aabahran's GPS thief/ninja, move from the area. If you're in Miruvhor, go to Marek. Or through the underdark. It's unlikely that the young ones will keep pace with you.
