Imoutgoodbye
Any tips? I have the wireless card/plug hooked to the comp via a USB extension and I punched a hole through a metal cooking lid to act as a receiving dish, but with the weather going cold/lower humidity, the signal is incredibly erratic and has led to several recent mob deaths, which are starting to drive me insane. I'd like to buy my own internet, but that's not an option for me at this time and besides mudding, it's great for research on kid questions, recipes, and any crazy questions my wife thinks up and wants the answer to. EDIT: I'd like to point out that this signal is coming from an unsecured wireless router and technically I'm not doing anything illegal.
f0xx
Tbh, is it that expensive buying your own line? I mean, in my country where the average salary is 250 euros and getting your own line costs 15 euro per month, I still don't see this as expensive, and I doubt it is worse than this where you live. The-Nameless
http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/products/WRE54G Wireless range extender. Basically all it does is recieves a wireless signal, and rebroadvasts it. Since it is an unsecure network all you will need to do Valek is plug it in, and press the auto configure button. There are also hundreds of plans online that use old DirectTV dishes. I have not done one myself, but I have seen a working set up.
Aulian
thats quite a good site... A new one is like $100 bucks but they also offer refurbished ones for like 30 bucks! like this one... You'd just have to wait till one became available. http://www.shoplinksys.com/REFURBISHED-Wireless-G-Range-Expander-WRE54G-RM-Accessories_stcVVproductId82187551VVcatId543868VVviewprod.htm
Dizz
You can get this here: http://www.abandonedstuff.com/petfoilhat.html Put on a foil hat like this one. It works wonders for your signal and keeps Big Brother from reading your mind.
