Teralis
Not that anyone cares but I am probably giving up on a project I've been working on. I just do not see how clerics can kill at 30 unless you are killing absolute noobs. Trying for undead and need to kill some to get recognized and have only won 1 out of god knows how many fights dying in 2. Earthquake doesnt cut it even at mastery I really think dispel good/evil should be a lvl 30 spell. Sorry just an opinion and trying to calm down some. There Im better, might just have to convert to shaman least then I may be able to kill someone at 30.
Twinblades713
You'll find that (Ahh!) app rely mostly on RP for success. If you can get one pk even that's solid and well RPed, I'm sure that will be enough. If nothing more, just RP for a bit longer and you'll probably get it. Teralis
I agree rp is extremely required however out of my 5 undead and 1 vamp so far I've had far more then 1 pk waiting for the app to get approved.
The-Nameless
2 things. #1 clerics at 30 can kill anything that doesn't autofly constantly. My BEST record ever at 30 waiting for an app was I believe 15-0. I even went as far as to sacrifice a full suit of armor and get the second half of my pks naked. #2 I love the idea of undead cleric. jibber
Undead clerics are nasty! As far the application goes, I waited for 4 weeks to get an application accepted once, perhaps you may have to wait longer? As far as equipment goes, I sacrificed some pretty nice crap with my applicant to make sure I didn't have any 'advantages' to my opponents, other than skill. I think that hurried things a bit more along too. Also, it seems IMMs are also looking for characters who can make an overall impact to the mud with their RP. A great way to do this is send notes of why your existence is to be condoned, and what not. You can be very creative with them, obviously.
Teralis
Yeah all good points, was just frustrated earlier, had to log something else after a cool down. At least when i am annoyed at getting jibberjabbed I dont just spew crap like some of the others. Im sticking with it even if no one wants to rp, alot just want blood and I tried that so will have to take it one step at a time until I get approved, this is the only char I have had that wasnt accepted within a week after applying so frustration sets in a little while trying to figure out ways to get the thumbs up. The-Nameless
My tip to you is don't give people the option to not rp. If your having trouble getting rp, just ooze it out. Go to CC and abuse the Smote system. I have rped for quite a long time with myself and mobs. I promise people WILL get involved. I recently got one of those Exp rewards for Rping with a mob. f0xx
My tip to you is don't give people the option to not rp. I like that advice. Look at Zelithar's RP. The guy puts a lot of effort and even though very few people respond to his attempts I haven't seen him give up even for a second, and it seems like it worked for him
L-A
Mya outlined how to do it not so long ago - not that I think it will killed a smart player but there is always a few people you can shark to get the 3 - 5 pks that you'll need. RP will be more important for gaining qraces. Cheers, L-A

The-Nameless
I never used pets either. I always viewed app wannabes as being tested, and pets for non pet classes is cheating. Just my 2 cents. Anyone can grab a bashing and tripping pet and get a few kills. The real skill is involved in getting the kills witht hose "weaker" skills. But you also need to take into account nothing can out attrition a cleric at 30. Calm, steel wall,e arthquake, wands, staves etc etc. There are some NICE wands in the mage tower, coupled with abusing dispel magic,
f0xx
You have to take advantage every way possible if you ask me. If shops sell pets, why not buy them? That being said, I still believe that RP is the deciding factor.

mya
I just do not see how clerics can kill at 30 unless you are killing absolute noobs. Earthquake doesnt cut it even at mastery I really think dispel good/evil should be a lvl 30 spell. Sorry just an opinion and trying to calm down some. There Im better, might just have to convert to shaman least then I may be able to kill someone at 30. You just need more cleric experience. You should focus on Meele EQ, and carry some consumables, to save mana (vials...). You can get easely 25/25 Hit/dam and a magic weapon. I even do well with the Sun sceptre. Master Dispel Magic and curse, Faerie fire. Curse, Faerie fire if you have surprise, if not Dispel Magic,Dispel Magic,Dispel Magic,Dispel Magic,Dispel Magic,Dispel Magic,Dispel Magic,Dispel Magic,Dispel Magic, then Curse, faerie Fire. KICK. Yes, KICK. Don't fight the dirt game. They dirt you flee, run a bit. Don't expect to always get a kill. But expect a very positive Kill/Death ratio. Use Invisibility at from consumables, and summon to trap area, flight, etc, the usual entrapment tatics for finishing them up.
mya
I never used pets either. I always viewed app wannabes as being tested' date=' and pets for non pet classes is cheating.[/quote'] Clerics can have pets at 50. APP that get to 50 will use pets, if smart. A cleric can have 3 pets at 50. Probably a forth one, but not sure.

f0xx
I can think out a way how to get 4, but five? Besides, if you consider a pet that dies in one round really an advantage... especially if you are playing an attrition class... corpsestomp
Shield block and parry are pretty much the only thing required to master to do well as a wannabe cleric. Curse would take a lifetime, since it costs 50 mana, dispel magic isn't mana-efficient or effective, since anyone who knows anything isn't going to bother fighting you when you run them dry of sanc sources. That said, steel wall, earthquake and kick will win you most fights. No diseases/poison/blind is gonna stick at that level, and training cures would be helpful, but not required. The only problem I had with my wannabe were well-equipped melees, since I didn't block enough to attrition them. I think the hardest thing about playing a cleric at 30 is actually landing the kill. All in all, get a marmalade orb and wreak some havoc.
HouselessRogue
Other than losing my link... there is zero chance you are going to kill me with a cleric at 30 without the use of pets. And I call BS on the 5 pets.
L-A
And I call BS on the 5 pets. I'd have to test it to be 100% but I can count six ways to get a pet. Pretty sure that five of them can be used at once, maybe six... L-A
