dragonforger17
wtf? can someone explain quickly lol
Imoutgoodbye
Ruthless. It's simple. Unless you want to be gimped straight to hell or feel like you need to crawl before you can run again. It's basically that Moderate is protection from full loot, but you'll never see the upper (T, E, L) positions in cabals, you'll never get an qrace/class, you can only carry so many rares.... mya
Remenber, first time players will probably never see Elder,Leader spots in cabal. I think moderate can still achive Trusted position in cabal. Moderate is good for new players, as you will die many many times, this will ensure that you get your equipment back. You still can wear Rare equipment but are limited in the number. New player will also have a dificulty finding this rare equipment in the first place, so it will not affect you much. Moderate also prevents those who killed you once from doing it again for a certain time perioud. Usefull. Rutless, means that they can kill you at any time even after they just killed you, and that they can take everything of your dead corpse, leaving you with no equipment. Lord Antisonic
I say go Mod, The better positions (in cabals/Qraces) are already taken by someone already better skilled better decked and never on as much as you are for a start... You may not be able to full loot, but they cant do it to you... It gimps thieves, and stops ninjas from having such an easy life... If they get their kill they might take the nicest shinies and gold, but thats it...you keep your bags, lights, pots, consumables, boat etc. they can't re-attack you, but you can innitiate at will.. And once you learn your class, and the lands, and how to survive, and when you stop rage deleting... even with moderate amount of rares only, you can start to bring hell back the other way... You can still get cabaled get the feel for it and gain some of the more often used skills/spells etc... and like i said.... there is nothing stopping a moderate from killing a ruthless bar equipment... and if that's all you want your character to be...Pfft... can't wait to take my sleeping moderate back off the racks as soon as I'm back home in aus and not stuck here in Indo... P.s. I'm sure its just the high end ruthless pkers/full looters who hate Mod and as stated above... the first excuse is that you can't be full looted... but heh...their Rp is already questionable...I say Roll a Healer/Mod and never worry about your equip again. Malchaeius
For the umpteenth time, Moderate is not the newbie tier. While certain aspects would make them more palatable to a newer player, that is not the purpose for their creation. It is simply an alternate tier for people who do not have the time or desire to be as dependent upon their equipment - or who do not enjoy being forcefully multikilled by an opponent. However, it also provides one the ability to jump right back into PlayerKilling even after taking a death. Instead of spending hours re-equipping, simply replace the three rares that you had taken away. As a matter of fact, if I had the time to play a character, they would likely be moderate. Cephirus
I would also recommend Moderate. As Malchaeius said, it is not for noobs as some may suggest it to be, but for those that are interested to get into the game or refresh their memory on the ins and outs. This game has a sharp learning curve to it, us vets have a serious advantage on tactics, eq, and the land layout. I am sure most of us can walk from Miruvhor to Val Miran blind, I know I can and have done it, and that is only doable from hundreds of hours of experience. So what if you cannot full loot, it is not the end of the game. Very few games offer any looting at all, because many people do not like it, however that does not mean we should remove it either. I think the moderate allows us to examine how looting effects the playerbase, particularly those new to the game. I would instantly quit if I just started playing a game, worked on it for five hours to get to 15 and bam, full loot. Obviously that is more rare to happen (at least I hope) but it used to be a more common occurrence. However, since then, we as the playerbase, for the most part, have decided to really avoid that kind of combat at such early levels. For many, I think they recognize how little challenge there can be if you get the jump on them, also, the imms are not going to like it either, it really doesn't prove anything valuable.
